Hey Andrew I'm using speedybee f405 wing mini fc with fly sky fsia10b receiver all the protocols and settings were correctly done but still for some reason my fc is not detecting any rc i already tried with futaba and crsf and changing the inav stock 6 version to inav 7.1.1 still n o sucess
Brilliant instructions. Short, precise and exactly what you want to know. Just that and nothing else. Different a lot from other guys who make instructional videos. Good work! More of this! Thanks!
Andrew. Very nice video quality. Did you glue the tail booms into the wing sockets? I am considering it! Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks!
Even if servos are slow, I would think faster update rates would mean updating stick changes quicker, resulting in the servos having the latest information, even if they are slow to transit.
MAATE!, Guess who built a Ranger T1 Vtol and didn't add a Compass !!!,,, yep. Me. Took me 3 attepts at Loitering to realise why it was just wondering off !!, Haha this vid made me spit out my tea when you said that. Ardupilot states NOT to transition into a NON auto flying mode from hover, says will immediately stall. Not sure about what INAV says, but it's a thing I guess.
Anyone converted the Jumper XiaKe 800 VTOL from ardupilot to INAV? Ardupilot transition & quadcopter modes are good. I really dislike flying it in "plane" mode. Ardupilot very robotic. I'd rather acro/air mode in Inav.
Nice video Andrew. I believe you have convinced me to load INAV onto my recently received (but not yet assembled) Manta. I find Ardupilot too cryptic/complex and much prefer INAV.
For more complexity and weight? It's an airplane that hovers for takeoff and landing, not a acro quad. If you need more yaw, get the motors out wider, and allow for more tilt.
Nice!! thank you very much for all these informations, I am new in this hobby, and all these videos are very useful for me (and sure other begginers) Good job Andrew, Muchas gracias Rob
The pusher model with yaw problems needed a much bigger fin. The fuselage is like a weather vane pivoting around the CG. You had too much fuselage side area in front of the CG compared with behind, so it was essentially unstable. It was probably largely the thrust of the motor that kept it going forward at all ...
Hello Andrew , I liked the simple pusher rc plane ,I was looking for the same , This is really good for beginners , I only have only one question how much angle I need to fix for angle as I made on beekar pusher plane but could not fly even after giving the angle to mount motor and see that the shaft line passes just below the CG of wings but even after that its not getting up lift thrust its noes going straight down
Nice demos. The FIMI Manta VTOL appears to have challenged many both using INAV and Ardupilot setups. This one seems to be flying quite nicely. I do like the touches of yellow with the darker foam. A yellow stripe on a wing might help with LOS visibility as well.
I enjoyed that Captain thanks ! Do you think DJI (for example) would be able to develop a small VTOL wing so us extremely novice builders/pilots could safely experience VTOL ?
Or.... you could put in the time, and learn how to build one yourself...If you are that much of a novice, there is no way you could safely operate something that complex. Need to walk before you run.
@@scottyh72 haha someone is rattled. Now if you would like to read my genuine question again and comment please do. Lesson to all novices commenting on here....there are bullies around that will take any opportunity to remind you of your place, what an idiot !!!
Hi Andrew, this is super interesting, when you say adapt the settings, what do you mean ? Have you changed the motor tilting support, is it necessary, even if the original one is still intact ? Have you planned to make a video concerning radio and inav 7.1 programming ? Patrice
@@AndrewNewton We set 3 positions, right? one position with vertical supports, another position with 45° supports, and third position with horizontal supports.
@@AndrewNewton Piles of roo poo to step in? Could be worse Andrew. Up here the kangas can climb trees! 😱🙄 Called out to see an old mate the other day. 3 of them in the trees hanging over the driveway and garden. (Environmentalists) 😉😊
Nice. Frsky is making good radios. I just ordered the Twin X Lite. A bit smaller and should fit in the hands, just right. Would love to see you do a video on using the 4 pos switch.
I'm considering upgrading from my X9 Lite S (not enough switches), and I am torn between this and the X18. I think either transmitter would be more than plenty, and it seem that there are receivers up to 12 channel for TW, so that's fine. The base X18 is basically the same price as the X14 S. Decisions decisions.
Thank you for you content Andrew! I’m having a devil of a time getting my swordfish to fly. Cg seems right (slightly nose heavy to be safe, inav settings are identical to yours. Problem is every time I hand launch ,the plane goes straight up as if it’s tail heavy then it’s game over. Am I using too much throttle and not throwing it hard enough? Pretty bummed right now as I’m facing my second fuselage repair of the the day and no flying…
I use about half throttle and normal throw. Sounds like your elevator or pitch stabilisation is reversed. The board is upside down, did you set that in INAV? Does the animation move the same as the plane in the configurator?
@@AndrewNewton Thank you so much for responding Andrew!- I am fiddling with calibrating the accelerometer again. I understood that the board was upside down in your videos. and the animation did moves as it should. Right and left rolls good and pitch. But I recalibrated it just now and its upside down . UGH. Have to do that again. So given that the calibration was originally ok that leaves me to assume I wasn't throwing it hard enough and it had too much throttle. does that sound right?
@@AndrewNewton I just noticed I had ticked permanently enabled launch mode for fixed wing" and did not know it. If I had hit the throttle with that one could that have caused the issue?
Too late, i think. After my QX7 died, i bought Radiomaster Pocket. Surprisingly capable Tx. Perfect for my big hands, as i can reach all switches without moving my hands. I love it
I read on the web side that it is sell without battery and transportbag. I would like a full accessoried x14s. And may be with touch screen like twin lite.😊
