As far as to why your missles might be doing nothing to something with 0 armor, its probably because the warhead isnt at the front, rather halfway down the missle. It also explodes in a radial fashion rather than the expected ball shape right where you impact, so most of the shrapnel is doing nothing. (Based on a Smarter every day video i watched recently) Thats my best guess
@@thefez-cat Nah that's the kind of autistic level of detail Gaijin does. The issue is with quality, not complexity. For example: Did you know War Thunder simulates air pressure and temperature at altitude, and the effect it has on an aircraft's engine performance?
That missile trading with the ka-52 is something i relate to on a spiritual level. I sure love helicopters not only sending multiple missiles my way, but also being able to control them all so that I cant do anything to shoot down an aircraft in my anti-aircraft vehicle.
i don't even use IR lock anymore, I just see the target, check if its within 12km (or fast enough to be when the missile reaches it) and shot using the mouse to aim sometimes I even turn the radar off so the enemy have no clue even that I exist and see him

How casually? Do you play jets in top tier GRB?? Its nightmare fuel having to dodge 3-5 SPAA that lock you and start guiding in the second you spawn XD
Srry, shouldve put dodge in quotations because there is no dodging the SPAA. SPAA farms aircraft in top tier. Only ones that can fight back is helicopters and only because their damage models are still broken
@@MrRobschnieder Only the premium dead-brained noob pilots get farmed. Planes have dodged Rolands/VT-1s multiple times in this vid. Also, watch 5:32. I got killed in top-tier SPAAs very often like that. That's a common tactic of dealing with SPAAs.
I was hoping for this video today, interesting thing you can do with both the Roland and Truck; is that if you managed to have the missle sharply drop down on top of a T-72's turret. You can detonate their ammo or kill crew.
I would say this is OP, but given as the FlakRakRad as present in Warthunder is literally fictional there is nothing to compare it to. There has NEVER been a Roland 3 equipped version of this vehicle built, even as a prototype, and the German army is in the process of phasing out all their Roland missiles. A Roland 3 FlakRakRad only existed as a proposal, it was rejected out of hand by the German army and never developed or financed. So, typical for German vehicles in WT, then. Meanwhile, the Soviets still don't have vehicles that were built in greater quantity than every post-war German armored vehicle combined.

Pantsir is best AA with autocannons for ground defense. ADATS is best AT/Multipurpose. Crotale/VT1 missile is 2nd best AA missile with no ground defense. 3rd best SAM.
