Flaring Vejers Strand, Denmark. August 2023
This was my third trip to Denmark from Norway in 2023. This was during the Flare dune event organised by Pedro. I was a bit late to the party and missed the first few days of flying. It was really cool rocking up to the beach meeting everyone, making some new friends and catching up with old ones. Beautiful windy days in Denmark flying.
This day paragliding at Vejers, conditions were pretty wild. When we first arrived it was 30 knots and no one was flying. It moderated at times throughout the early evening and we got some punchy but smooth windows, especially on sunset. Really cool to be able to drive onto the beach with a 2 wheel drive car too. When we were leaving the beach around 1130 we spotted some deer taking a walk along the beach, what a visual!

Be aware of military areas. In Denmark there are a number of military firing ranges that include ridges and dunes ideal for coastal soaring. It is allowed fly in these areas as long as they are open to the public. If you intend to fly in any of the following areas it is essential that you check if they are open to the public and that there are no live firing exercises being conducted by the military:
Most importantly check always check the following link for NOTAM when flying in Denmark, especially when flying the coastline between Vejers/Blåvand and up to Hvide Sande.
