i live near a ton of creeks in georgia and i've seen advisories saying that the water levels will rise but i've never actually seen it in real life probably because most storms here hit during the nighttime lol. if i was able to i would but i don't really get the chance. i hope i can see it soon though in person lol
It's strange how mesmerizing it is looking at flowing water. I think it takes me back to when we used to race paper boats in the gutters by the side of the road in the rain. Thank you for this video.
Its like a time lapse film of what a glacier does and always amazes me that pushing that amount of debris in front of it that the damage done is not more. The momentum gathered and rubbish pushed along is truely alarming at times, so i find it easy to imagine a glacier doing the opposite, moving imperceptibly and grinding the ground with its own debris forming fiiords or valleys in their wake. Thanks for sharing.
"I'm kind of nervous standing in the bottom of this gully". "Nah its cool". "There's a bunch of water". "Nah its cool". "You know there's a bunch of sticks right"? "Nah its cool". "You know this Gully is like a 100 feet wide right"? "Nah its cool" I'm pretty sure I would have not listened to Mike Jach and took off running.
The video ends where Post 10s video begins lol. Look at it overflow towards the road, and the debris build up and steady flow finally overwhelmed the culvert. Madness.
Because the weight of all that water probably caused the catastrophic collapse of the dam, sweeping them all to oblivion. NEVER stand in the way of a flash flood
Amazing footage. Wonderful job for the photographer. It's the first time I saw what a flash flood really looks like and how dangerous it is. Greetings and respects from Türkiye.
That was so close to clogging, actually I think it would've overflowed just from the flow resistance bringing the level up. If that overflows and you're standing on it, you can't run fast enough.
Totally awesome, it’s a great site to see !!! The last flash flood I seen in person was in the 70’s going down my street in the middle of my subdivision !!! Hahaha
Thanks! We left as it started flowing onto the road. Here's a video of the other side: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TIXRPYNpbPw.html&t
@@MrMikejach thanks for sharing the link, not as exciting as i thought it would be but thank you. also no hate just thought it was a little funny when you would say "nah its cool" lol
That's no flash flood... That's an Upstream Post 10 Lake Unclogging video consequence. Post 10: Call that a clogging? (grabs Rake) Everyone: Opens Beer and sits back "hmm.. Now that's cool..." OP: Still a very cool vid. Great footage. :-)
You could tell the one log wanted to go in the culvert, but the other sticks and logs wouldn't let it. Why were the other sticks and logs being mean like that?
These people are nuts. I've seen the road bed around the culvert give way from flash floods smaller than this. Imagine you're standing on that bridge and it collapses and you end up in that rolling meat grinder. Get up that hill and use your zoom, that's what it's for.
