I have all 3 (FJ400, FJ200 & FJ80). I love all 3 but the FJ400 is the most versatile. Like mentioned the FJ400 can handle larger modifiers. I find the Quick-Mount S-Bracket is good but struggles with really large modifiers such as the Rapid Box Switch 3x4. I would recommend going with the 400 as a 1st purchase. Being able to mount a modifier directly to the light without an attachment is the way to go. I would like to see a more robust heavyweight accessory for the FJ200 and FJ80.
The settings chosen have me confused. As I understand it, shooting at a as of 1/8000 puts you in HSS which effectively reduces the lighting output of the strobe. At 1/8000, you are “forced” to boost the ISO to 400 or 800. if you slowed your SS to 1/2000or 1/1000 you could have and ISO of 100, which would be generally preferred. I assume you are shooting at a wide aperture to reduce the DoF.
I I’ve watched this video from beginning to end and I just couldn’t help but notice when you used the FJ 400 your subject was further away from the sunlight, but when you used the FJ 200 he was closer to the sunlight. So I don’t see where this is a fare comparison.
It definitely depends on the areas in which you plan on taking photos. When indoors, you can definitely get away with using a Speedlight for many close-up to medium setups. But for outdoor areas with a lot of ambient light, you will typically want something with more power like a 200Ws light.
We did a video about using the FJ80 outdoors as well! This can give you an idea of it's outdoor capabilities ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mXztQKj2z0o.html
