Agreed but you have to go quite far back in the past to find people making luxury leather goods that did not use the machines you mention. I studied handmade leather goods at the Hermes school in the 80s (Ecole de l"Abbé Gregoire) and all these machines were part of our training and owned by the school. That was 40 years ago. You have to go back to the post war era (1944) and even before that, to find people doing this work with no machines. Regarding paying for knowledge, the school I attended was not free. I had to pay tuition and it wasn't cheap. Nothing new here. These remarks are not criticism. They are just factual knowledge that not everyone is aware of because not many people know how luxury leather goods are taught and produced.
