Making progress. Initially every Flash game was "Flash does old build and dies". Now we're at "Flash does a cool thing, but still dies". Next stop "Flash does a cool thing and wins".

Since the beginning of the post flash era (beginning 2021 (asl 11-17) the round of 16 has seen about 32 players IIRC 11 Terran (1 one-timer) 8 protoss (3 one-timers) 13 Zerg (5 one-timers) As far as round of 28 goes I haven't counted that but we see someone we haven't seen before almost every season
@@swan9506 32 players is better than 15. But I don’t think your including other stuff. I’ve rarely seen anyone new asl so maybe these numbers are a bit wrong and old?
One thing people forget about Artosis "fanboying" over Flash is that if Flash comes back to ASL and stirs up the scene again, it's good for the health of the scene. Just like how Artosis and Tasteless were hyping up Jae Dong so much even though he was underperforming, relatively of course. The competitive scene needs storylines. I feel like they should be hyping up Snow more though
I don't know, I feel like SnOw gets hyped up plenty, every single time a match of his is casted or he is mentioned, there is gushing about his reaver micro and insane TvP presence
That Armory cancel is bonkers to a regular viewer like me. To have so much experience and skill to plan ahead and optimize any situation you see in a match is mind blowing. GGs! HF everyone TY RT!
PvP is best mirror! Once you get passed the Rock paper scissors part of the game it's quite fun. I love when it's reaver vs reaver and then mass Storm drops and reaver drops in the late game... it's so fun.
Since you asked so genuinely RT... while I like playing a mirror matchup, unless I see a PvP or ZvZ with a long video length, I am usually more excited for non-mirror matchups. With TvT it's not even the length I mind but I tend to feel the mid-games end up looking very similar often, though I definitely lack nuance as a spectator watching TvTs. But anyone who skips whenever they see a TvT would be loathe to miss this one. Very cool and different game. All the Matchups deserve some time to shine in Brood War!
TvT is the best mirror for sure. I feel like at the top pro level they always decide the games before it gets into siege line vs siege line. They always seem to hit some decisive timing in the mid game rather than let it run late and end up being mass BCs
The ASL where RoyaL won really won me over - both to him and to the match-up. He was coming out with such crazy optimised builds and strats that it felt like he was at times reinventing both TvT and TvZ, at least in terms of what we ordinarily see at ASL level. It was so fresh and cool. I've been a bit bummed the last couple of seasons though; it's as if the other pros adjusted to his hyper optimisation by either playing really safe early on or rushing, and that's neutered the main strengths of his builds (which are designed to destroy whatever's meta). He's a bit like a Terran Mini in that respect; he can be brought down by the simplest of builds because he hyper optimises every single time, even against players he could totally outclass in a normal game.
I'd like terran to get alittle early game help. An extra scv at spawn or a gifted marine. Allowing terran some measure of protection from early worker harass.
Royal: "your opening theory is outdated, I will go in the middlegame stronger as you" Flash: "but my endgames are still awesome" Royal: "yes, but the opening advantage saved me, I had a passed pawn".
Looks like its going to be quite some time before Flash gets TvT and TvP under control again. Or if hes just doing ladder builds as you've suggested to try and figure out random stuff..
TvTs have gotten more interesting. I remember a lot of old ones just being walls of tanks staring at walls of tanks with WWI no man's land in the middle.
I love long games (where the resources and expansion play a strong role). But mostly is TvT that is long, the others are on average shorter so please more TvT.
I know you probably asked for us to post if we watched it all the way through for engagement purposes, but I love watching this Flash content so yeah, I did and I loved watching the mirror. That was some big brain stuff.
No mirrors would be wrong If we're taking bulk games where we don't have a tournament or something special like flashes return something like PvT:TvZ:ZvP:TvT:PvP:ZvZ 15:13:12:5:3:2 Seems like a reasonable ratio for a sample of 50 ladder games
Has Flash had enough of goliaths? It's the time for return of the wraith outside TvT, gotcha anti-muta, and jumping carriers. Tune in here, when pros realize it's BETTER to have a goon loaded into a shuttle with reaver than zlots. and that gols aren't better than wraiths until +2 weps or unless you're pushing into hardc contain with turrets. Also, gols DIE FASTER than a wraith because they can eat scarabs, trip over ever possible unit and building. Gols are less than 1 goon attack sturdier than wraith, without the mobility to avoid/flee like 3 wraiths can.
I'm that weird guy that likes ZvZ mirror matchup the best... Any chance we can get a few of those? Feel like we can fit 4 matches in this length of vid
