I hated watching commercials as a kid, now here I am, revisiting a long forgotten past. When waiting for your favorite show, surrounded by your parents and siblings. Hell my mom would make popcorn for all of us before the Simpsons came on. This was right after the Streetlamps went out.
Thank you for putting these together. So many commercials I haven't seen in 30 years, that bring back wonderful memories from my childhood. I wanted all of it lol
That doublemint gum song was brilliant. I miss the simple life back then...who else? A dozen channels, only one screen in the house and some fun commercials to go along with it!
Thank you for another great compilation of the 90s Dave. It always make mes feel at home again during that era. And brings back stuff i probably only remember seeing once or twice. Also lets get the likes up on this because it deserves it. Hope all is well Dave. And the hurricane didnt do too much.
11:54 Selling computers on the phone only makes me think of George Costanza: "Hello, Mr. Fennerman? Wanna buy a computer? NO? Why not? ... okay, good reason."
I have to watch Dave videos he can actually save us from these bad times forreal. We had such a good time then we didn't need social media and cell phones to text we had each other and actually cared about another man I miss we could go back
I was a little kid during the Genesis/SNES days, and I never saw a Turbografx, anywhere, or even heard about it. I do remember seeing the trash ass Atari Jaguar in a KB Toys once. Those old brick cell phones always crack me up. I really don't think woman go around trying to see what underwear random dudes on the street are wearing.
Besides the 2 bacon egg biscuits for $2, greyhound and cheap gum....looking at rest of consumerism commercials....we are soooo frickin spoiled and should be grateful of what we have now and be more appreciative too. Im a Gen Xer btw so none of what I'm watching is shocking and lived it but I hope those that came after should realize how good they have it now. It's hard to understand in the moment though but watch these ads and you go ..people were going nuts for a brick of a talk only mobile phone for $400. The video games, computers too...I mean...damn we should be all happy...lol. Funny how life and humans are.
Watching this makes me miss that time of my life so much, my heart aches. Thank you for taking the time to put this together with so much care and intention. It means a lot!! 🥹🤧💖 📺
I remember my dad bought that norelco kit with the vhs tape. He jacked up me and my brothers hair. We had to buzz our hair. O man good times. Loves my pops and my mom
Since I was a kid in this era, most of these, if not all, didn't interest me at all. I wasn't even paying attention. However, it's great to know what my parents and the adults of this era were seeing. There's a reason why the nickname is The Nostalgic 90's
Where service was state of the art. I'm from Sacramento, California, originally, and whenever I think of Circuit City, I almost always think of The Good Guys electronics store hostage situation of 1991. I was almost 8 at the time. Can't say exactly why the two are tied together in my mind.
God I loved Space Above and Beyond. It was my favorite show back then. My dad and step mom had one of those Presto FryDaddy fryers. It was amazing. We cooked lots of seafood in it. After you used it you let it cool then put the plastic lid on and put it in the fridge and kept using the same grease. Dumbass me once didn't wait long enough to put the lid on. It wasn't hot enough for me to notice by touch so when she got it out and pulled the lid it was melted around the rim and stuck and the rest just ripped off. Man she was pissed for a good while about that. It was an accident but i felt bad. Still kinda do lol 40 years later.
