The eighties and nineties may have been over commercialized but it genuinely seemed like the corporations wanted you to have fun. Commercials these days are all for pills or insurance. Political ads. And they're cold. They don't have the same feeling at all.

I have Halloweentown 1-3 and Hocus Pocus both taped from TV, commercials and all, and the nostalgia is real when I pop those tapes in. I adore this now, even though I hated commercials then and hate them now too.

I miss how TV was as a kid in the 80s/90s. Everything was so fun and everything was themed around holidays, especially halloween. The fall was my fav time as a kid, and a lot of that was due to how everything in popular culture was goofy and funny and light hearted and fun. Now it's all stuffy and staid and boring. It felt so different then.
