Even here you can see Lisa is different from them. She represents the peer pressured one of the group and 10 years later she's a totally different person. Confident, assertive and more than a match for Christie I loved the way Lisa sarcastically and savagely insulted Christie at the reunion 😂😂
@@skylarstreet5756 I liked Lisa in the film she went from a bit of a snobby cheerleader and matured into a nicer person. Christie on the other hand married straight out of school and had kids and didn't puruse her ambitions I actually think she was jealous of Romy and Michele because they moved to LA and are living it up enjoying their single lives with nothing to tie them down and all Christie has to brag about is how happily married she is with kids and Romy even says to her "you must feel really tied down" lol her face was priceless because Romy hit a raw nerve 😂😂
I was 8th grader or freshman when this came out so they always look older but I figured it made sense because they were supposed to be 28 and they were at their High School reunions but yeah looking at them now I realize just how much older than high schoolers they all look.
In the dream sequence of the movie where they show up at the reunion, you see a balloon sculpture of a banana and carrot on each side of the stage, and then when they show up for real, those sculptures are gone. I think it was the directors hint to the audience that, "This is really all a dream." A pretty fun and clever idea...
Lisa and Sandy wounded up becoming successful while Christie married her High school sweetheart; turned into a dysfunctional marriage because Billy ended up becoming an overweight alcoholic with a dead end job while Christie is stuck having to raise children. That concludes the couple are quite poor.
All the mean girls from my high school class are now married and prego overweight (not from pregnancy) and married to alcoholic farmers in Iowa stuck at home raising numerous kids isolated in a little farming community they never left. True story. I didn’t change like at all. I look exactly the same as I did then & they always made me feel like trash about my appearance. As an adult I’ve had many romantic encounters and had no idea I was fire bc they treated me that way. I actually didn’t know I was in any way good looking until I left that horrible place and met actual people. Jealousy I suppose but I’m not being arrogant. Just thinking of the irony.
I get that. One of my bullies completely lost her looks. But she was never really the looker 😂 last time we met I bought a card from her for £1 in this crappy card shop loool!
I love how exaggerated the back brace is,..you never really see one with the bar coming up the front like that, but it makes it so much more hilarious!
@@DATA54132 REALLY?!? How awful! My friend had surgery for scoliosis in the mid-80's and had to wear a back brace for about a year, but it didn't have anything up the front like that, thank God. But you have to admit; the squeak they added for affect to give it more of a Tin Man feel probably was a bit exaggerated,...LOL!
Lol I relate to this scene. I had to wear a plastic brace for scholiosis. I ended up having a Harrington rod put in. It’s the only tv show I know of representing scholiosis.
Her brace is made to resemble what is called a Milwaukee Brace. I wore one, too for over 3 years. And I hate to break it to you, but refrigerator magnets won’t stick to that metal-I tried! 😆
I don't think that Christie bullied Romy and Michelle because they had the courage to express themselves, I think she was just a dumb-spoiled-brat-daddy's little princess and she believed that she would be a queen bee but, real life after high school is not like it.
Romy was supposedly "fat" in high school, so the implication is that she would've REALLY wanted her burger. Thus Christy taking it was an extra dick move.
She did it just to be a bitch. That’s the only reason bc she calls her the “chubby girl”. So she took her food. That’s why it’s so funny that Michelle is clueless as to why later when they talk about it looking at the yearbook.
I forgot how funny this movie was! A girl I knew in high school back in '97 showed me this movie. She used to say "What a bitch, ate your hamburger", haha! Another girl I knew showed me Clueless, lol
@@ashleytrueblood2200 The movie is set in Tucson, Arizona. Romy and Michele leave for Los Angeles after they graduate and they drive back to Tucson for their 10 year high school reunion.
Oh yeah and when they’re flipping through the yearbook Romy says “ Oh, look there we are! Michelle says “Yeah and alone” lol! She’s so clueless I love it.
