A throwback clip of Jack Nicklaus educating Johnny Miller on how to properly putt the ball on the immaculate 10th green at Harbor Shores in 2010 during the telecast of the 77th KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship.

imagine years later we find out it was a remote control ball and this entire thing was a marketing stunt put together to drive revenue into the tour 😂 Crazy thought
@@brandonbye3886 I'm the biggest Tiger Woods fanboy and shed a tear when he won number 15. But this is just ridiculous, calling out your mate like he did, in front of all those people, giving it one look and nailing it, it's just so god damn unbelievable. Haha.
This is possibly the greatest sports moment of all time. He literally walked all the way to the other side of the green and did what he said what he was going to do, and walked back to where he was.
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE ! Jack Nicholas showed everyone, like he had anything to prove, why he's number one, NO. 1 in golf. Thank you Jack. And thanks for Johnny Miller for the great setup. It's all on tape too ! Love it forever ❤ !
Imagine being Johnny Miller - you're an elite talent, however you've spent your whole life falling short of Jack Nicklaus and you've almost come to terms with the fact that he is a once in a lifetime legend, and just better than you at golf. Then when you're both old, well past your prime, enjoying life, they ask you to play with him on the Senior Tour, and, on live TV, he tea bags you so hard that people refer to this as one of his most legendary moments. Brutal.
It's on the short list with Kirk Gibson's HR in the bottom of the 9th of WS Game 1 and Secretariat's win by 39 lengths to capture the Triple Crown, setting track records at all three races that have yet to be beaten over 50 years later.
If you ever try putting on a PGA level green you will understand just how awesome this putt was...Played golf for 30 years and on a fast green like that I would be looking 4 putts minimum to sink that ball from there...easy
Try vijay singh water shot..theres a few versions look for HD quality, he skims it over the water several times like a stone for a hole in 1....ridiculous
@@terrymckenna3382 I can't seem to get an explanation why he didn't just flop it up there.? Plenty of green .. . Why would u take that risk? I think he just skulled it. And got lucky... What am I missing?
Unlike "Dude Perfect" where they may film 100+ attempts before they make an impossible shot, Jack walks up and nails it in front of a crowd. Absolutely SICK!
Man proceeded to drop a ball, barely read the break, slams the ball with a putter with enough momentum that the ball would have skimmed over the hole had it not been dead center, and still made the putt. Absolute legend.
Who would've ever thought that one of the most legendary & iconic golf shots in a hundred years was just something to get a laugh out of the crowd? I swear I've watched this 50 times or more whenever I see it pop up and I want a smile on my face. That was, is and forever will be legendary.
My guess is as follows....The hole looks as big as the Grand Canyon to him, conversely it looks like a dime to the rest of us mortal beings. I saw a very funny interview once with Arnie, Trevino, Chi Chi, and Jack. Arnold Palmer said "Jack just had a lucky streak, It lasted forty years, but it was just a lucky streak" Everyone laughed their tails off!
are you trying to be sarcastic? because the tone of voice in your head as you typed comment that doesn't convey well to people reading it. it's impossible to do subtle sarcasm with text. if you're not being sarcastic I apologize and have no idea what you're talking about.
They didn't but, they only got to see it once. I appreciated it more after watching it twice and realizing no hesitation, no practice swing, and he hit it before Johnny Miller finished talking.
Easily one of the greatest impromptu sports moments in history. Not sports related, but it reminds me of the guy who won a new car on a scratcher ticket, then during a tv interview when asked to reenact with another scratcher, he wins a quarter mil.

@@bena9713 holy shit that would actually be a great episode I think , a timeline of jacks career to this point and how it was the most thug life moments a true og any sport has ever made
Like someone else commented, this is super underrated. That is an incredibly tough shot. The dialogue leading up to this, the ball drop, no setup, super relaxed footing, and no hesitation shot that pops in the hole. A movie couldn't have scripted this better. Top-fucking-tier moment in all sports right here. I don't even care for golf, but you gotta appreciate how this went down.
In what way is it underrated????? Who gave it a low rating? Did you read the comments here or listen to the crowd yell in appreciation or here the announcers exclaim their surprise? This is very highly rated!!!
@@brians9508 You're incredibly naive, lol. This has nothing to do with a physical "rating". It's characterized as underrated in it's overall appreciation in sports. Because golf isn't a "major sport" like football, basketball, or basketball.
@@USAFMike Too bad you don't understand ironic humor. I will attempt to speak more plainly to you. The use of the term underrated is VERY overused in YT comments - mostly by people that don't even realize the true reason that they are using it. It is a juvenile (and transparently self-congratulatory) way of saying "hey, look at me, I am superior in discerning quality, and the rest of you do not have the ability to appreciate truly good things" :) Oh, by the way, you can take that "incredibly naive" comment and put it where the sun don't shine. lol
I’ve heard the phrase “luck is where hard work and opportunity intersect”. Jack put in the work over his entire life to develop the skill that he has, giving him the best chance to at least roll the dice on that shot, and the opportunity was there to make it. Those two things met in the middle and… well, there it is.
No, this is not why Jack will always be the greatest. The fact that Jack will always be the greatest was already well established before he did this. He did this *because* he already was the greatest.
How many times in his life has Big Jack gotten into his putting stance, and done that very movement. 10,000 times..25k...100k, it's now programmed into his body and brain, like a natural reflex. Back in his heyday, Jack was famous or infamous for how long he would stand over his putts, especially the 4-10 ft.long ones to save par. He would almost meditate over them, before striking them, usually hitting dead center cup. That's why he was the master, dominating his time, and even knocking Arnie off the throne. Tiger came close to that manner of dominance in his time, but Jack still stands alone as the Man! Now he can play around and clown acolytes like Miller, but he still has the touch. And he still enjoys winning, even at almost 80. Hail Jack...
This will always be one of my favorite moments in sports history. His attitude and professionalism is on another level that cant be achieved by anyone else.
See 1975 Masters^^. The putt obviously went in, which was the main thing, but had it missed it would have shot past the hole by a large amount. A perfect putt is the one that slows as it approaches the hole and barely drops in, meaning the golfer measured both the distance and the speed completely accurate. That putt zoomed into the hole and hit both sides of the cup as it went in. Perfect or not, it still hit the bottom. Nicklaus is amazing.
We would all love to have a single moment in life like this. This gentle man has had literally thousands. Whenever he looks down from Heaven on Jack Nicklaus, God smiles.
I had my moment when I got a hole in one... walking to the green to pick the ball out of the hole honestly feels surreal. It's a proper ' and at this time the world will bow down to our new god of golf!' The bar tab soon brings you down to earth :)
One other moment this reminds me of was at the Ryder Cup when some random guy from the crowd hollers that he can make the putt. They let him, and he sunk it.

Johnny Miller had huge talent, in his prime he would go weeks on tour dominating everyone, but he only won two majors during his career. This clip is an indication why.
That will always be a debatable subject on Tiger Vs. Jack. But you can't compare the two. They played in two different eras; different equipment, course conditions, ect. The difference between golf in the 60s through the 80s; and 90s through the present, are light years in difference as far as the evolution of equipment and such as mentioned above. Both prevailed to be the best in their respective eras. That's how I leave it
Not just 18. 18 against the strongest field in history. Arnold Palmer, Che Che, Payne Stewart, Woodson, Faldo, Norman, and a dozen other bad asses that he triumphed over.
This is the biggest boss moment ive ever seen. The guy said " this is impossible and Jack says "want me to putt it for you" Walks up and nails the putt and then drops the mic, BOOM and then walks off. 👊
nah, golf sucks compared to mma. While this was a good shot, nothing like seeing something like this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AIIPvNlKW2o.html
in its entirety, from advice to calm execution was the most amazing thing I've seen in golf. And for Jack, another day at the park. A life, well lived (and living)!
Me too, no way 😩 looking at the distance to pot it, and with those slopes it is beyond my skill set. Then this guy made the impossible to be achievable. I’m just honestly shock 😱 on how he casually did it without doubting himself. The confidence, and he in that moment looked so Regal and Majestic that I would also bowed down to him at that moment. I’m happy to see this 😃.
That’s why Jack Nicholas is a legend, forever, future Folgers will hear tales about the great Jack Nicholas and his accomplishments and moments like this one
This almost seems cinematic. Like, no way with the dialogue, the swagger, the quick line up and analysis, and first try sinking the put... could this be real! But it is mind blowing that it is completely 100% legit. This is the GOAT of all GOAT moments!
That’s an immortal and truly Jack moment. The announcers nailed it though if that ball doesn’t hit the cup it’s well long, but no way it keeps that line without that speed. So basically Jack once again proving why he’s the Golden Bear.
