Kids love flashcard games in the in-person classroom, that's why I have adapted and developed the same games for the online classroom. When I teach young learners English online, I always play at least 1 or 2 flashcard games. I have developed flashcard games for the online classroom based on the ones I usually play with my students in the physical classroom.
In this video I show you not only 6 of my favourite ideas but also how to find flashcard images online and what programs to use as your 'blank canvases'. I show you how to use programs such as Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Publisher and Google programs such as Google Drawings and Jamboard.
Once you have become familiar with how to import images into these programs I walk you through 6 of my student's favourite games to play online.
Trust me, your young learners will love these games so much, you'll be able to use these games as rewards so that you can encourage higher levels of engagement and participation.

Thank you so much. This is really great. I just became a volunteer adult EFL tutor, and my student can only meet online and doesn't have much experience on a computer. My brief training was mostly for more intermediate level students, and I have been looking for things that we can do together that don't require skills she doesn't have yet or a lot of tech knowledge that I don't have. This is something I can work with. I will be checking out your other videos, too. .

Chalie, I have noticed the lapel mic attached to your shirt. When you first started, did you always use a mic? Do you use a mobile camera and/or a computer camera?
@CharliesLessons

I have always used the lapel mic. I changed from a webcam to a Sony video camera but the mic has always been the same.

@@CharliesLessons was it due to Covid that you started teaching online, or did you work for someone else before doing this on your own?
@CharliesLessons
@CharliesLessons 10 месяцев назад
@@jirons2660 I did some online work before COVID but obviously it became more important after. I don't work for myself, I work as Director of studies at CLIC IH Cadiz. That's my full time job.
