Awesome video! My favorite part is how tool-free this is. All of my Ethernet repair tools are for round cables so I was stuck with a broken flat cable until I saw your video.
That was cool. Good detail. I am not a technician but part of an old job was maintaining our network and I would build cables, not pretty but they would work, this video confirms I was doing it right, unfortunately since you are dealing with twisted pair it is not a 30 second job (at least not for me). Ignorantly, I thought the flat cable would make building cables easier (around my house) but you still have to deal with crossing over cables. I will definitely save this video and if I do build my own cables instead of buying pre-made I will use this video. I did not know about those guide pieces before today.
what i did was put ea cable into ea slot doesnt matter in what order as long as it is in ea slot and i was able to get it to work but this tool looks amazing which i wish i had seeing as i had a flat and putting it in the regular ethernet thingy was a pain in the ass which took me 30-min to an hour just trying
Hmm. I had searched the web and saw an Reddit post and people were saying "just buy a new flat cable; don't try to terminate a flat cable", so I thought it would be very difficult to terminate a flat Ethernet cable. Judging by this video, it does not seem hard. What gives?
