Through my good friend Louis Van Baar I got invited by BMW Nederland to come and have a first drive in the brand new BMW M3 Competition!
During the limited but very fun morning program we got the chance to try the cars both on the Dutch GP track and on a wet drift paddock.

Great driving/reaction cam.. could you also show pov cam to get a sense of the acceleration/handling?

Would you mod the m3 for better performance and driving experience?

The only mod I would do is an exhaust system. Other than that I wouldn’t change a thing!

Why did BMW opt for the auto transmission over the dual clutch? Is it due to reliability?

This is to be able to fit the car with the MxDrive 4wd system which doesn’t fit with the dct gearbox

Which one is faster and is there any diffrence in driving. Like does the m3 feel havier and leans more and slides more?

It is very hard to feel a difference. But if anything the M4 feels slightly stiffer and (even) more responsive on turn in.

@@jeroenmulNL if you bought the m3 comp and went to a serious track day would you say yourself "oh man ı shouldıve get the m4 comp"? Also m3 looks over the m4 performance(lightly stiffer and (even) more responsive on turn in.) what would you get?

Yes I have been fortunate enough (and mainly again through my good friend Louis) to drive a big part of the BMW M range (X3M, M5, M8). But also the older cars. In fact, my dad owned an E92 BMW M3 in 2009-2010 which I did a lot of kilometers in!

Like many others I wasn't a fan when I first saw the pictures. But seeing it in person and in different colors now it is really starting to grow on me. I like the M nose way better than the standard 4 series nose. And what I really like about it is that it immediately differentiates an M3 from a "normal" 3 series. This is a special car and I like that it immediately stands out as one. But this is all just my humble opinion.
