The thickness of the doors and panels I no indicator to quality. You will hear many sales people saying that their 18mm carcass is better than a 16mm carcass. That’s rubbish. It’s the density of the board inside that matters. Some 18mm panels are like Weetabix inside . However once the kitchen cupboards are all fastened together they have an inherent strength and providing they have been fitted properly they shouldn’t fail, no matter what thickness or density they are. The thing to really look out for is what the doors are made of as this is what is most likely to fail. There is a lot to talk about here so I feel a video coming on. The main thing to not go for is a door that is vinyl wrapped. Never have one of these in a kitchen. Ask the direct question “ is the door vinyl wrapped”? If they say yes or they don’t know, walk away!
