Matt, that flathead is a British/Canadian rebuilt unit going by the LV7 prefix on the stencil, possibility for a generator or welder, but also use in CMP and Ford/Fordson trucks and Bren carriers during WWII and some British military trucks post war.

Kudos to you Matt for taking Evan under your old school hot rod wing. He’s getting one heck of an education under you, Mike and Steve and it is gratifying to see he likes to get dirty and learn. Hope to see his own hot rod build at TROG

Evan will remember this summer forever. I'll never forget the Spring/Summer I spent as a 15 y/o go-fer for the band of local hot rodders (my best friend's brother was one of them). We all hung out at the garage of our "Matt" and I was in paradise. Kudos to you all for being such excellent teachers and examples for him!

Matt, I am impressed that you are going to replicate the firewall beads for the Ardun coupe. The first time I saw that pattern it just screamed 1930's Art Deco mixed with Cubism. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Glenn Curtiss Museum in Hammond Port deserves a visit when you and Kate are in the Finger Lakes area. He developed an small engine for motorcycles, boats and aircraft applications. Also set motorcycle speed record in 1907 on the Daytona Beach at 136.4 mph! Fastest man on the earth that time, wine tours and enjoy the area. Waiting to see the paper pattern outcome?

hey Matt a good (cheap) way to seal the concrete is to use a heavy wax commercial liquid ,mop on ... ask guys that were in boot camp and how the "bay" floor was kept shinny or if you have a connection with the local DOT street section ( I did this ) get some white line paint and roll it on seals well looks great

My late uncle had one of those Ford carrier truck's, when we had it at the house I was looking at it he had it totly rat rod truck out of it. It looked like a normal truck but every part on the truck was modified with other truck parts. It was a good running truck but my older brother sent off to the junk yard. I wanted to do something with the chassis and engine. Maybe put an older car/ truck on the chassis?

Hey Steve: The easiest way to carry a sheet of plywood is "on your back" !! Stand it up behind you, squat a tiny bit and lean over slightly with the plywood balanced on your back. It's a quite comfortable way to move a sheet of plywood. Wind is the only possible issue. Good that concrete you showed in your concrete pour was NOT yours. That stuff was WAY TOO WET !!! The strongest concrete is the "DRYEST" concrete !!! On concrete pours I worked on decades ago on government buildings (schools) where the inspector was "on-site" all the time, they would hardly let you add 5 gallons of water in an entire 10 yeard concrete truck. They also took samples from every truck for testing. It was "another time" where care and quality were actually important issues. I would have been in "dreamland" if I could have done what your nephew is doing when I was his age. It would likely have been a total "life changer"!! I likely would never have become an electrician.

So the Grand Marquis is officially a classic car....

Morning Matt & crew!! Your nephew is living a young hot rodder's dream! Hanging out at Uncle Matt's hot rod shop!! Matt, I have a question in regards to the Eastwood paints, I used the Eastwood Matte black under hood paint in a rattle can, it was about 85 degrees when I painted some metal interior parts, the paint dried with some solvent spots, was this due to the high humidity or? These are metal brackets in the ceiling of my 31 Ford Coupe, you probably won't see the spots.
