The Bluechip takes it IMO. The casein (and I've found this with mine too) seems to have a more distinct click... almost glassy and a bit brittle sounding. Great video Pete.

Hi, I'm up in Newcastle and I just got two Casein picks in the mail today (351 and CT, haven't tried them yet). I think there was a difference but I didn't think any one was better than the other. The Casein was brighter and gave lots of energy to the pick attack, which would be great for ripping bluegrass solos or to liven up certain string brands. The BlueChip had a nice tone but had less attack, which would be great for more mellow applications. The Prime tone held its own but didn't really outshine the others in any area. However, as we all know the Prime Tone picks are widely available and very affordable, which makes it a no-brainer to buy the and use them. I do have two Blue Chips coming in the mail (my first try of these) so it should be interesting. I really like the attack of the Casein picks. I prefer the 351 style and I never really have any issues with picks slipping or anything like that because I don't pick from the point, I use 'pick slant' and 'pick angle'. I am interested to see how the casein last though as it has been said that they don't take well to moisture. Great video and nice playing, enjoy.

Casein sounds best to my ears however Iv love the grip and feel of the blue chip.

The Casein hands down. I use a 1.4 on my HD-28 and a 2.0 on my D-18.

You can drill 5-6 holes in the primetone and the grip improves dramatically. Un abrazo from Spain!

The D’Addario had a lot of pick noise. It sounded like a much thinner (size-wise) pick-maybe mainly because of its point. BC and Dunlop were closer but the Dunlop sounder thinner (tone-wise). I’ve been looking at the BC CT-55 and I think you just sold me on it (not that I enjoy spending $35 on a pick, but damn they sound good).

Blue chip and prime tone sound very close to same. The Casein Sounds brighter of the three.

The Primetone and Bluechip are nearly identical, but the Bluechip cost 6x more. The dunlop Jazz III XL picks are pretty solid too.

As much as I like Prime Tones the casein sounds better somehow. Thicker tone. Weird

What guitar make/model/year here? What strings brand/gauge/type here?
