Racing is fascinating, because most horses don't naturally want to lead (unless there's a bossy mare in question). And in ever-changing situations, I wonder what kind of inaudible communication is going on between temporary barn mates at the meets. Do they establish 'leadership' before they even leave the paddock? Or, when they first get off the trailer (if they've shipped in). Then there's a horse's familiarity with any given facility. Those runners that are successful against all challengers, no matter where they are, or what surface they're on... rare and wonderful. It's simply not herd behavior. Imo... breed Army Mule to Thorpedo Anna! 😅
Flavien Prat is a Top 3 Jock and On Fire Again....Sierra Leones "Problem" is That He is Just NOT as Good as Many Fans Think...He is Obviously a Very Nice Horse But He is Overrated...Perhaps He Will Step up His Game and Show All His Talent
Always enjoy hearing a jockey talk about the experience of being on the horses’s back. When a horse that cost little surprises everyone on a big stage it reminds us of hidden gems. The politics of the horse racing sport reflects the politics of all human endeavors. (“We are our own worst enemies.”) As I am not impressed with the majority on this Supreme Court, I wondered what they would do with HISA. I am glad they left it alone, and I hope the fifth circuit heeds that inaction and drops its fight. Without HISA, horse racing would not have made the improvements it has. In the last week, there was a filly by The Lieutenant that raced well and I will be following her. Her name begins with ‘B’ and means “victory.” I always root for the progeny of The Lieutenant. I almost forgot; Ridin with Biden is preparing to race again-it seems.
