That's why Mick wanted only Lindsey for FM. Mick agreed to "throw in" Stevie as a concession to Lindsey (on the condition that Christine liked Stevie). Either the greatest stroke of luck in Rock 'n' Roll history or the will of God.

I have been madly in love with Chris McVie for 43 years, ever since I first heard her on the Bare Trees record. I saw them (Chris rejoined them mid tour) last April in Kansas City. It was the first time I had seen them since 1977 when they came to Greensboro NC on the second stop of their Rumours tour. They are unquestionably one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time.

Ha! Lots of us were in love with Christine. I was pretty pissed that they brought this usurper in, but like I said above, fell in love with the new lineup. They're all excellent musicians, and Stevie was an amazing frontperson. Bare Trees is still one of my fave albums ever, despite the loss of Spencer and Green.

I was there also. But I believe it was Fleetwood Mac that opened for Procol Harum. I bought tickets for Procol Harum, Friday, 10/17/75. Fleetwood Mac was scheduled to play 1 or 2 nights previous. A few days before the concert I was notified that neither Harum or Mac had sold enough tickets to fill the hall, so they combined the two concerts. A 2 for 1 deal. Not bad!. At that time Procol Harum were bigger "stars" than Fleetwood Mac. Of course a year later things were different.

STEVIE WAS BORN TO BE A HUGE LEGEND. I mean it's her first tour isn't it? Just look at her: the way she stands on the stage, the way she moves, the way she sings. It seems like she naturally knew what exactly to do. Her body was born to dance those kind of weird but iconic dances, her mind was created to write amazing songs and she herself was made to be the queen of rock and roll. What a lady

Very grateful to find this footage, particularly as it features earlier strands of FM's Blues heritage and featuring McVie's magnificent voice and piano. Grateful for any footage of her now since her passing. 1975 was a very special time for the band and she has talked about the sense of dizzying possibility that they felt at this point. Agree completely with Jenifer below who says each member adds an important piece of magic and that goes for the group in each of its iterations over the years.

So refreshing to see this line-up before they achieved stardom- just an honest rocking performance, and yes, Lindsey is tearing it up. As an aside, I saw Tull on their Benefit tour in 1970 at this theatre, also before they achieved stardom, and it was a relatively modest venue. I have no idea if it is still there.

After seeing this concert I gotta ask why Lindsey never got his due as a guitarist he's playing very full on runs without a pick and easily handles the Green era material a lot of fire and soul in his playing yet the retrospective magazine charts always seem to have Green in their but fucking hell Lindsey deserves his due as a guitarist for coming up with riffs like Rhina to name just one. Guess its because the band took a more lighter approach after this era so people forget what a great guitarist the band found in Lindsey not just a great songwriter.

This was the Fleetwood Mac that was still an opening act for Jefferson Starship because I saw them 3 days later in New Haven, Ct. The "Fleetwood Mac" self titled album hadn't dropped yet and wasn't a big fan of the Bob Welch Mac so I didn't even remember seeing them. Then about 5 years ago I was looking at old Ticket stubs and saw the Starship stub where I had written "Fleetwood Mac was the opening act" on the ticket (as I was in the habit of doing back then). The only reason I went to see Starship was because my hot girlfriend "Miracles" which was in heavy rotation at the time. It was something like this show, Boston, Rhode Island, & New Haven. Then they were headlining their own tour after those few shows. I probably have the order wrong but I'm pretty sure of the cities.

+Chelcie Lynn It's been one of my life's li'l disappointments - that I wasn't aware enough that night. Also at the time I was into the more "guy bands". Zep, The Who, etc. We were so lucky back then. I lived in Ct, between NY & Boston and access 2 free train rides because my dad & myself worked on them so I could go anywhere for free. Tickets for Led Zeppelin @ MSG were $7.50 on their Houses of The Holy Tour & only $.50 cents more 2 years later during the Phys.Grafitti tour. I mean life was sweet and a bag of grass was $20 bucks. I saw everybody from The Bee Gees to The Clash. David Bowie to Frank Zappa. U2 2 or 3 times (when they still put their pants on 1 leg at a time) at our favorite nite club - Toad's Place then "War" came out and they had 2b moved to Woolsey Hall/Yale School of Music. They asked Bono to leave the 200 year old pipe organ alone & the sweet guy that he is - defiled it & climbed up it.Very disrespectful but an incredible show. The place has perfect acoustics. The 1st time that I saw Elvis Costello was 2 nights b4 his infamous SNL show, then countless times after that. Thankfully I was smart enough 2 save ticket stubs because, like that Fleetwood Mac show because unfortunately it's impossible 2 remember all those shows especially after years of smoking natural herbs. If you've read all of this I hope it didn't bore you too much because it was somewhat cathartic for me also a little sad but done so with Luv.

Its a shame how this is edited, the also did Station man, Why and Landslide at this show. Many songs from this show where used for the King Biscuit Flower Hour including Landslide!
