This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard, and I treasure it. You have expressed the emotions so well, with sweet phrasing. You weave a vocal tapestry that is truly amazing.
My mum loved this song by stevie nikks because it reminded her of her dad, so i played it at her funeral. I know she would of liked that. You sing and play beautiful ❤️
I took my love, I took it down I climbed a mountain and I turned around And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills 'Til the landslide brought me down Oh, mirror in the sky What is love? Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life? Well, I've been afraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm getting older too Well, I've been afraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm getting older too Oh! I'm getting older too Oh-oh, take my love, take it down Oh-oh, climb a mountain and you turn around And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills Well, the landslide bring it down And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills Well, the landslide bring it down Oh-ohh, the landslide bring it down
Phenomenal interpretation man, it really stands out among so many covers of this song. Can't believe this has been up for 2 years and i only heard it now. Best of luck.
There are a lot of covers of this song on RU-vid - too many in fact - the song tends to lose it's beauty and impact with so many others covering it. But this piano version is definitely one that brings bring the original flavor of the song while still being a cover. LOVE IT! Good job, man!
There are some covers that you do that are just built for your voice. This old timer loves this song and now here is your version of it, that just moves me so much! Great job, Nicholas! Thank you so much!
It's those songs that just make you stop in your tracks and look inward that I'm attracted to. I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed my version so much, especially it being one of your favorite songs! Thank you!
I've always heard the Dixie chicks version but OMG this was so beautiful and very soothing as usual. Like I honestly still to this day cannot describe what your voice is and what it actually does to me Nicholas oh my God your voice is so beautiful you really do have a gift. You sound like an angel in a choir honestly :) you bring delight every day to me
This means a lot to me, Linda, thank you. I'm just so happy to hear that you enjoy my voice, and that it brings enjoyment to your days. That means the most to me :)
@@NicholasWellsMusic awww! Thank you :)! It always makes me feel good that my input makes you feel good as well. I do very much enjoy your voice it soothes me and brings warm happiness into my day. You put such passion into your songs it's just amazing you're truly a humble warm light of a human being :) would love to meet you someday in person:) in fact I didn't sleep much so I'm going to let this take me away into a nap right now lol :)
Oh MY! I had wanted to cover this song for a while but I knew I had some big shoes to fill. To know that you enjoyed my cover THIS MUCH means a ton to me! Thank you Laura!! I hope this continues to bring you much enjoyment!!
Thanks! I have the keyboard feeding MIDI into a software instrument. I did this a while ago so I don't remember if it was Keyscape or Alicia's Keys, but one of those :)
Incredible. Can you comment as to the voicings you use with your right hand? It sounds very nice and just makes sense. While playing the chords with my left hand I struggle to know what to do with my right hand, and any insight would be so helpful!
Hi Evan, thanks so much! It's hard to speak exactly to what I did...it was very much off the cuff by ear. But, I do know that I try to maintain those driving eighth notes and alternate between hands to keep the rhythm going, just like a finger picked guitar. In right hand I think I'm arpeggiating G, Eb, Bb, to F, D, Bb, to Eb, Bb, G to keep the chord changes going, Eb, Bb/D, Cm7, Bb/D
Dude I think this is a great cover cover. Excellent job. My only remark (and take this as constructive critism) is that you look very tense. Relax your sure shoulders and loosen up a little. Your shoulders look locked in place lol. But anyways great studd and hope to see more!
