Brilliant, Andy, and the rest of it as well please. Reason - my cousin happened to be playing with the band at the time! One of the all time best slide guitarists!
YES!! Another great one. And so cool how it conforms to the pentatonic scale--thanks to the brilliant Mr. Green for making a song that's relatively easy to pick up (although not to perfect--that may take me years!). My biggest problem with it so far, Andy, is getting that power chord to sound right there. Any additional tips on that? Thanks so much for another fantastic lesson!
Good job Andy! You can shred that Acoustic guitar! Good tutorial. I will be using you to learn Oh Well. Love that microphone. May I ask what kind and model number it is. Is it a good vocal mic?
i came here to see how people played it and check if i was missing something. Now i realized nobody's doing one detail i thing fits pretty well. Instead of beggining with E:---0-3H0--..., try E:---0-3H0-0--... Thanks for the vid though, great!
Nice teaching, but if you want to be correct, and add a little complication. then the the 3rd time through, instead of hammering on the 5th string 2nd fret as you do the first time through, on the way back down, you should hammer on the 5th string 1st fret, so it's a Bb instead of a B - just saying...
Why not teach it on an electric guitar, like the one hanging behind you. It's easier to play on an electric, particularly for beginners. Besides all that, it is an electric song (apart from the little bit of acoustic at the beginning of the riffs) after all. It is essential to also listen to the original track to get the groove down. As a teacher I encourage my students to learn as much as possible from listening to the original. It cements the song in the mind. Without the actual song playing, it can become very confusing to remember where you are, even in a short piece like this. Good lesson all the same.
Too much gabbing pal, and you haven't got the riff smooth enough for demo purposes. Too staccato, remember this is P green your imitating, the Master. Otherwise good try.
