Showing the making of an 18th-century inspired strap hinge with a Fleur-de-lis finial, forge-welded barrel, and forge-welded side-member pintle. I got to do this with good friends Trae, Christopher, and Bo, our cameraman. This is one of 4 hinges for double doors Trae is building for his new woodworking shop. We didn't have a full day, so we had to hurry to finish the first hinge before dark, and I made plenty of mistakes. But the hinge turned out pretty sweet, and I can't wait to finish the project and see the hinges installed on the doors.
