They canceled Clemson's classes today but not the game. Disgusting!!! Blue Ridge had our power back up late last night. Thank you for your information and we learned a lot!!!
So glad to hear you are OK. We have been worried about your. I saw on Appalachia Homestead with Patara someone asked if anyone had heard from you. Also someone asked about you on Pinball Preparedness. You are an important part of our community. Praying for your continued safety.
I need to purchase a generator. Just the two of us. Small freezer and regular fridge. Which one is quality? Looking at ~$1000.00. Is Harbor Freight’s Predator 5000 or smaller one good? Thanks! Glad you’re back, everybody’s been concerned. Glad your home is safe.
Glad you’re safe. We are in Newberry SC area. No power until Friday. My preps allowed me to give two families outdoor grills and charcoal. Also set a family up with solar. Blessing to help others
Urgent emergency please join me in prayer for all those affected families children animals massive cat 4 hurricane desvesation in Florida Georgia North Carolina South Carolina Tennessee They Desperately Need your prayers please pray for them God bless you all
There’s a woman., pregnant, with two small children stuck up in the mountains at 4500 ft with no way in or out and no food. It blows my mind how you could live that remotely with no provisions. Prayers for her and her children.
Yes I was seeing people asking for food less than 12 hours after and these people weren't displaced they were in their homes - I cannot imagine not having so little food in the house that you can't even go a day.
itll be another nothing burger! just like the last Trucker strike and the Trucker strike before that, the rail road strike, UPS mail strike, etc theyll throw them some pennys and all the slaves will do as their told!
Jesus Christ died for our Sins according to the scriptures and that he was Buried and he rose Again the third day praise God praying for everyone Everyday God bless you All.
I don't Understand people and their lack of critical thinking skills my sister and brother in law thought Friday would be a good time to visit friends in Charlotte north Carolina Lol 4 hours into their drive their friends called them saying power was out and trees and power lines down. Driving towards a hurricane not smart.
You can prep as much as you want but if the water runs trough your house with such force that everything you prepped for is washed away there is not much you can do
@@consco3667 actually you should know that the extreme heat causes much more evaporation and now all the flood plain maps are incorrect. But if you deny climate change or are waiting for the Apocalypse so Jesus can save you personally, you probably would not know that.
@@consco3667there aren't a lot of food plains up there beyond X. But flooded creeks, rivers and dams became a huge problem. I doubt this is even a 500 yr flood.
I can’t thank you and the prepper community for opening my eyes years ago. Because of you all we’ve ridden out Helene in Western NC and have been able to help our unprepared children. I told them I’m teaching a “prepping class” when the power comes on. It’s terrible that it took this event for them to take me seriously. You never know when things could go terribly wrong. Good bless you all out there. I’m praying for the dead from this storm and for their families. So sad.
I was very impressed with all the line trucks coming through West Tennessee from all over the South headed East to help out. I want to thank all of them for leaving your homes and families to help
Yep I just saw today our local electric coop said they were sending a team - 30 teams going total from Missouri and then later that 200 lineman were joining them. Way to go Missouri - that is how rural conservative states roll!!
Thankful that you are safe. TOTALLY agree about the moronic decision to hold that Clemson game “for the community” when law enforcement and utility providers were saying to stay home. What utter narcissism and arrogance to use the gasoline that people need to keep their freezers going! So frustrated that my mother in Central has a hard time finding gas to keep her generator going, while clueless people are proud that Clemson was able to fill a freaking stadium with idiots.
As a victim of the 2016 flooding in south Louisiana who lost everything, I can tell you that no amount of preparation is sufficient for devestating flooding. We were ready with generators, fuel, food, everything. It all washed away or was damaged by the water and mud. Whole drums of diesel - lost due to the current. We were blessed in having additional resources, but many were not. Flooding is brutal ... if the infrastructure people worked so hard to set up is washed away, then ... just saying. Prayers for those affected. And glad that you guys are safe and able to help your neighbors in whatever way. You are an inspiration to so many.
Ryan hall as been debunked a million times. None of his predictions ever come true. He overblows every little event. And hes literally just trying to get views and thats it.
Ryan Hall uses the same weather radars and tools that top meteorologists use. He sits on his computers and live streams for hours on end, to warn people what’s happening in the storm’s path. His team also donates tens of thousands of dollars to storm victims on the regular. He’s a nut that literally millions of people listen to.
Ryan hall is a good source for information. The only people I know that has had something to say negative about Ryan was emergency management in my county, he said watch local weather only. So they are in ka-hoots
@whatanamazingusername @janblackman6204 Ryan seems like a good guy & he & his crew have been on top of weather events in my area so I'm not gonna say anything bad about him. He & his crew are setting up NC towns with Starlink connections they're paying for themselves so the flood victims can reconnect with loved ones & emergency management has a communication link. What have you been doing?
I have a home just outside of Brevard NC. Very heavy devastation. I found everyone was patient and worked together. However. 1. Severe power outages. 2. No internet or mobile connectivity 3. Gasoline Shortages Solutions. 1. Home Generators 2. Cash is king- stores could not process cards 3. Diesel was more readily available
I was on nextdoor and people were complaining about how "slow" the utility crews were repairing the lines.I gave one "man" an earful. Then there were the usual "who is going to pay for my spoiled food" cash app "begging".I blocked them .. I got power after 4 days and I did offer the crews 4 gallons of bottled water ,which they declined. They were from NC, btw.
@@cindylong624 Good for you! Some people are so entitled, they complain to make someone else responsible for their life. "Who's gonna pay for my spoiled food?". Why, YOU are...because you didn't have the sense to recognize that power could go out for a 1000 reasons. Keep your awareness up about those people -- they won't learn, but will be really quick to blame you for not giving them your stuff.
I agree, they should have canceled and rescheduled the Clemson game. Glad you and your family are ok. Curfews will be in place in affected areas, looters will come out no matter what. Praying. This is going to test a lot of people.
After Hurricane Ian, I became angry waiting in a gas line for over an hour. The reason? People in the line in front of me, (not from this country), had other non citizens bringing empty gas cans to them so they didn't have to wait their turn. The station had to shut down just before I got to the pumps. Borders, language, and culture - all becoming foreign.
The operator can program the pumps to ration the gas. Everyone gats up to 35 gallons per purchase. One purchase per vehicle. Got 7 cans? Fill what you can and go to the end of the line for the rest.
Sorry to bother you today many were worried but you were kind enough to reach out and help me purchase the right prep items I had questions about and it eased my mind I'll be forever grateful for that
Glad you all are good, I'm heading up to western NC this coming week SE of Ashville where its totally destroyed to take aid to folks on my mother-in-law's mountain. It's only a handful of folks, but they are currently totally cut off from leaving the mountain, so drive up it is, then hike it if needed. Just rode it out down by FT. Stewart GA. Wasnt too bad here, just sheeple panicking everywhere. I did get the chance to break out the propane stove and feed the neighbors. Actually started to win some normies over to the idea of preparedness. Stay safe!
Pickens County, we have power back up in my area, but i was pretty shocked at how busy fast food places m were as if people really didn't have food at home and the gas lines only 1 day after a storm.. pretty sad at how unprepared your average family is.
My oldest is headed to W NC w/his crew. Please pray for them. He is not sure he’s ready to see what he may see :( So many memories w/my kids through that whole area. Now they’re saying this next storm may take the same path~what a coincidinc eh?~ I’m in S Iredell and a flash flood warning just came through until tomorrow 2pm So glad you & yours are safe!! Pinball may need your help trying to get donations through.
Glad to hear you are good. 🙏🏻 Praying for all affected. Patara and Pinball have sprung into action with donations. People were wondering about SP1...so really glad to hear you are okay.
Dave, I absolutely agree with you about the Clemson game. My husband and I were very disappointed that Clemson did not cancel the game. I was in Ingles yesterday and it was cash only. So many people lined up at gas stations and restaurants that were open. So glad my husband and I prepared ahead of time. Take care and may God bless you. 🙏
In SE Georgia, eye went over my house at 3:07 am Friday. Everything looks like a war zone. Trees down everywhere. No damage to home but damage to outbuildings and well. Have a pecan orchard and a lot of the trees are uprooted, tops out of trees, limbs down everywhere and most of the leaves blown off. All the pecans are on the ground, too early for harvest. We are blessed so many around us have trees in their houses. Our electric provider has 100% outage and we are looking at a 2 week minimum to a month before all power restored. I am a 66 year old widow and have prepped the best I could. I learned last year with Idalia where I needed to improve and have as much as possible. Not physically able to do some things that need to be done. Compared to others I am in great shape. You mentioned cooking in the heat, temps here are in high 80’s , heat index is 90 and above. I live in a rural area, 1 mile off paved road, 17 miles to town. I freeze gallon jugs of water and put 1 on the top shelf and 1 on the bottom of my refrigerator to keep food cold, use frequently for power outages. You can do this to help others who do not have generators, then swap them out and refreeze. Same can be done to keep food in freezers but you would need more than a couple. Until today only 1 gas station open in our county, 2 hour wait for gas. Grocery stores and all restaurants closed due to no power. A few stores opened without power yesterday, cash only and a few food trucks. Very, very limited resources. Today a couple of grocery stores opened with limited items and cash mostly, cards were only working sporadically. Besides no power the city, county and community water systems are down so no water. There have been some reports of stealing. The one story that really got me was the RR has put generators at the crossings to work the lights and cross arms and people are stealing them! Thanks for all you do and for helping us to prepare.
Maybe consider publicly "pretending to need more than you do," so word doesn't get around that that you are self sufficient, making yourself a target in three to four weeks. So sorry you lost your pecan harvest. I'm wondering if unripe pecans can be ground up for chicken feed?
Dave, I bought an Oupes power box, based on one of your videos you put out last year. Worked great. When we run the generator, we would charge it back up. I ran 2 AC windows units, 2 fridge, freezer, portable ice maker. Coffee pot. Microwave. My daughter, son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren stayed with us. We'll water on my generator also. Crazy old paw paw is a genius now. Just got back from my friend's house. They had no water. I took an old generator I had in the shop. Cut their 220 wire to their in ground well pump. Installed, Male and female plug. And obviously the plug set I used match my old generator. So plugged it in. They have water. Their horses needed water as well as the family. I left them 15 gallons of gas. Yes, great learning experience. Instead of being all torn up about losing, we called it game day. This is why we prep. Later, Crusty Kirk ❤❤
Instead of running a STUPID FOOTBALL GAME, the Authorities SHOULD have used what resources were available to restore Power to Hospitals, Dialysis Centers, GROCERY STORES, Fire Departments and local Pharmacies. I hope the Local People REMEMBER this come November!!!!!
In fairness, local law enforcement and utility companies repeatedly begged people to stay off the freaking roads. This one is all on Clemson. The opposing team had to charter a flight to get there because all commercial flights were suspended.
The team from California was already on site and there were no linesmen (utility workers) directing traffic. If it was so bad there, makes you wonder how 81,000 people were able to attend the game? There are thousands of people that financially rely on those games to pay their bills. The hotel I was at, 25 miles away, was at half capacity on Saturday. No one but internet commentators were inconvenienced by that game. It was also a good moral booster for people that had been cleaning up from the storm that happened 36 hours earlier to take a break, relax and watch the game.
@@74jdvickery Not completely true. The Stanford team already had a chartered flight to GSP originally but after several delays it was determined that is would not land till after some curfew had been imposed for the area. Not sure who issued the curfew but it is not legally enforceable. Stanford eventually flew on the same chartered plane that had been paid for the next day. Their flight was originally suppose to land sometime after midnight on Friday morning but a 3 hour delay meant the flight would have to land as the storm was impacting the area. They arrived after the storm passed and easily made it to their hotel with no further delays. All these decisions were made before anyone knew what the impact of the storm would be.
THANKK THE LORD YOU ARE OKAY! I've been praying for you and your family, and waiting patiently for an update video! I have few people I watch and listen to on youtube, You are one of them, along with Patera on Appalachia's Homestead. I've watched you two for years and consider you family. I am praying for everyone, and am asking the Lord to lead me in helping. THANK YOU for the update sir!
Dave! Im in south Louisiana and i think about in a grid down world, we wont have the news to warn us days before, to button up the house. We will have to keep all things tied down all the time. We'll have to be ready all hurricane season
It's amazing how many preppers didn't even go fill up their gas tanks and have been complaining the last two days about no gas for their vehicles or their generators oh, and they didn't have cash either to be able to get any when they did find it
I hear ya, i just busted out crying a minute ago. He came in to see whats wrong, i said i dont know where my kids are. Sure steps kids but i ache they are not here .
Hugs and comfort to you and everyone that can't locate loved ones yet. It is very common for cell and Internet to be down after these events. I hope you hear soon.
Been lucky here and we have Laurens Electric and they are the best I have had in 72 years. My 2 sons are maintenance men in Greenville,SC and Arden,NC and very busy . They go 110% normally but in crisis they work even harder. I am too old to help much but I pray to our Lord and He can do all things. Maranatha!
Dave, you and I live in the same county. I'm appalled by how much panic buying has been going on here in the past few days, saw between 1/5-1/4 of all the grocery shelves in a local Walmart completely bare, more people shopping in camping and outdoors section than I've ever seen before. A lot of people who need gas can't get it. People harassing the linemen trying to fix power lines. Glad we prepared at our house, but we're also using it as a learning experience about any gaps we have. I hope this is the wakeup call others needed to realize they need to get ready for stuff like this in the future. I wonder if rationing will be implemented soon in our states.
South of Charlotte, the solar on my shed almost wasn't enough if power was out more than 48 hours but we didn't lose any food (other than what needed thrown out anyway). I didn't feel like unpacking all my camping equipment because I didn't know if the power would come back on right away so we bought water for drinking. I have a small pond and creek to get water to flush toilets. I need to work something out with a shower. We had a wedding shower to go to and I smelled really bad from removing the one tree that fell and branches. So, my wife and son and I took showers at a Love's truck stop. It was surprising nicer than it sounds. The other surprise was it costed $17 per shower. My wife and I doubled up so it was only $34. I probably need to buy a generator for the house or get a camper.
Buy some of that new product on the market that keeps you from stinking. No bath or shower Nessarry for a 72HR.’s. It’s called “LUME” full body cream. It’s clear and very safe for even your private parts!
So glad you checked in!!! Blessed everyone is ok. I’m in south Georgia and our county will probably be out of electricity for 3-4 weeks. What a relief to know we were prepared and have what we need to survive for as long as we need to. We can concentrate on our cleanup and helping our neighbors clean up.
So glad you and your family are safe. I listened to a Ham net in the area there. Was eye opening as you said how unprepared people are. Was also heart warming to hear the wonderful people going above and beyond to reconnect families and help in anyway they can. What a wake up call if people just pay attention.
So glad to hear that you are safe! Yes, that has been the most shocking to realize is just how unprepared people are for a disaster. Listening to a radio station, and the calls were from people saying, "Help, we need food and water." I know I'm learning from this situation.
Make a video on the port strike. Will that affect you all added to all of this? The whole situation with the hurricane is so devastating. Prayers for all communities. My brother lives up an hour from Asheville and he just got power. This whole thing breaks my heart. 😢
So happy you brought this up. The talks are off the table. Many know nothing about it. Idk how much more heartbreak I can take. Seeing the hurricane damage has had an effect on my mental health. I’m way too sensitive and I know it’s only going to get worse! ❤
@@myAccountMyvoice I am sensitive too. Put all of your trust in Jesus. Prayers are so powerful. For the last two days I have amplified my prayers. Steadily prayering for all the people who are suffering right now. And also thank God for the simplistic things like power, running water…being able to take hot bath etc. Preps are worthless when Jesus is not at the forefront of our lives. I don’t know what is going on with that strike either. Ran across it today and am so sad for all who it will affect. Time for the government to immediately stop paying our tax dollars to wars and illegals. Enough is enough. They must take care of the ones affected by this hurricane ASAP! Our fellow Americans need help!
Southern Georgia damage is truly horrific. Large tracts of land totally flattened large amount of the community has structure damage. No power for at least 6 more days. No looting no disorder just local community working together. I seen neighbors helping neighbors. Local community clearing roads. The National guard showed up yesterday and utility workers been here for a couple days. This is the first day of cell service. Stay safe
Fantastic! We have the same here in mid Georgia, with a few exceptions. There have been guns pulled at the gas lines. The MP’s from the Fort are telling people to carry when they go off post, the local police are starting to write tickets to people who break their curfew set from 7p-7a, which I can’t say I am completely for (some people still have to work and some need gas on the way home! - lots of stranded people in cars that ran out of gas because they can get any!). Police ride around right now after 7 with their blue lights on just waiting to give tickets out, and it’s crazy, I’m rural and there’s not much trouble at all around us, they are NEEDED in the city, not out here. But in the long run, I’ve seen so many people helping each other through this terrible event. So even when evil attempts to raise its ugly head, God is there with great people too. Keep the faith people, and always just do your best…and watch your back.
I learned a few lessons from the bit of storm we got in my area. Found gaps to sure up. Like cooking, heating this winter if needed, we had water because we live in town, but that's something we needed to keep in mind.
Volunteers with Helicopters are making a huge impact, please buy them fuel. You can help, there are a few go-fund-me accounts. Those things are not cheap to run.
Thank you sir. Here in south Louisiana and y'all are right people are not prepared. Amazing when y'all know you live in an area prone to storms. Praying for everyone affected. Have a blessed day.
Glad you guys are ok! I have a long overdue Thank You for you because you were one of the first people to help me understand that prepping is a lifestyle and to stay ever ready. Thanks to you I'm able to pass along clear, fundamental and sometimes life saving advice to friends and family! I'm now trying to reach that wider audience so that more can just be ready. So THANK YOU! Stay Safe and we would ALL love to see more of you on the channel!!
It is unbelievable that people don't even have weeks' worth of provisions/water and a couple extra cans of gas or a full tank. Really? Thank God that it wasn't cold etc.
A woman running a motel once told me if you want to have electric power after an outage like this, live close to the motel all the lineman stay at. There power gets back in service first.
I was just on the live with AP, and everyone was asking about you. We're in Florida, had cat 2 winds in our area. Just got power back a couple of hours ago. We have a lot of damage in our yard, cant belive it totally missed our house, barn, and chicken coops. Few big trees down ,but nothing we can't handle. We thought we were totally prepared, but we definitely learned so much. So good to have learned while i can. We put in a hamd pump to our well last year. My neighbors were so glad because i allowed everyone to use it. They were happy to be able to at least flush their toilets.
I could use some prayers for my family. I have just been diagnosed with cancer. Had a mass removed about a month ago and it turned out to be cancerous. Getting a port surgically installed in a few days and then starting cemo/radiation. My husband and son are taking this very hard.
I'm in my late sixties and live alone. I went through this a few years ago. I still have my port as a "fond memento" :) You are blessed to have family around to help out, that's a BIG positive! You are in my prayers.
We are all so glad you and your whole family are ok! So many posts asking about you!! Thank you for being so helpful to so many. Hopefully the neighbors will all ask you & your son for some tips, and on how to really get prepared!! God bless!!
Live in upstate SC multiple trees and power lines down. We have been prepping and are doing well. We don't have a generator, but we are making it. We a fortunate enough to have a creek for flushing water. Praying for those that were hit worse than we were
I have an idea about a video or videos for you to create. Our family was on vacation and were traveling from Gatlinburg TN to Irmo SC on Friday and got stuck in the disaster area in NC and had to stay in a shelter overnight. You might want to create videos about how to pack for situations like this and how to react if you get caught in situations like this. Thank you for all you do for us.
its good to hear from you, people were worried due to the news of damage every where. Other people are reporting anger in various locations, and lots of unprepared people.
Good to hear you and your family are safe, SouthernPrepper1. ... The news reported that one part of North Carolina received 30 inches of rain, and a National Park in the state received 24 inches rain: all during the storm Helena. What a disaster for the whole area.
