Hi Dan! I know you used the black color, I used clear and I sprayed the inside like you did then let it dry for 24hrs then I sprayed the outside and let it dry also. Been holding up great for over a year plus now and if it ever starts to leak again, I’ll just reapply another coat to see how that works before I trash them, they’re a pair of Simms that now I’ve gotten over 5 years outta them. Good luck! If yours still leak try applying an outside coating with the clear. Thanks for sharing.
I tried this myself after seeing Scott recommend it in one of his videos - thanks Scott! Unfortunately my patch job didn't hold up, but that could have been user error. Sprayed em inside and out too. Will be interesting to see if it works on yours!
Never had great luck with frog toggs, my old pair always leaked. They were very cheap about 35$ from Dunham’s, but I recently bought some frog toggs that were more expensive and are more of a neoprene material. With the old ones we found pin holes, and put flex tape on them, and put crazy glue around the edges of the tape, it worked good, but there were new pinholes every trip
Nice tutorial. Those pin sized holes are so hard to detect. Hope the repair works. If not maybe a 2nd coat is required! Also, has Echo sent you the replacement rod yet?

I had 2 pairs that were leaking in the crotch. I fixed one with Aqua Seal and it worked well but somewhat tricky. Very interested in how this does. Would love to try it!
Flex Seal worked for me, but the stuff doesn't set up clean and stays tacky. If you can figure out a way to dust the top it might work better. Mine always stuck together and eventually started leaking again.
Rather than trying to seal all the seams, as long as you have the waders inside/out, it might be worth filling the leaking leg with water and tracking the leak.
@@WhiteDogTrailCompany You may well be right, but I haven’t found alcohol to be reliable in spotting seam repairs and often not available on fishing trips. Seam repairs are often last ditch efforts or, perhaps, I’ve done them poorly.
@@bobsmmrs8712 Totally agree with you on the alcohol thing! It hasn't really worked for me either. I filled my tub with cold water... put my waders on and sat in it until I felt the cold water coming through. Then I took them off to see where I was wet. I ended up putting way too much Aqua Seal on just to make sure I had it covered lol. They ain't leaking now lol. But with a spray on flex seal it seems like it would cover it so much easier which is why I'm really interested in how it works.
@@DownstreamDownrange $8.00 for a small tube the sun will cure it if you don't have a uv flashlight. You just have to determine where the pinholes or rips are by studying the inside of the waders for dark spots or water stains.
so after drying the flex seal area when folded over is flexable and doesnt crack, while the uv repaired area (which isnt flexable) when folded over may crack and start leaking again.
