Mate, I love this build as it brings out the inner child. Clearly they don't understand the mad max feature and that this is built for show and if they thought otherwise, then their heads are clearly full of rocks or empty. The best part is that most of the haters comments are laughable and that you laugh with them and still do your own thing. Great job and can't wait to see it spit flames.

I would much rather see a build like this compared to “the ultimate touring 79” where there all the same

Love the attitude Sam and your enthusiasm and encouragement for others building their dream vehicles. A couple of aspects I love with your content is when you share mistakes and hang with mates in the shed. We all need shed time with mates and it’s super important. I think the keyboard warriors come out when someone like yourself takes risks and enjoys some success. Keep up the awesome work.

Swear this was one of my hot wheels cars growing up. Brings out the big kid in me, and will hopefully inspire young kids to go and create weird and whacky things like this in the future. Legend for making something as crazy as this!!!

Saw this build at rocknats, walked around it for 20minutes just taking it all in. It's a great expression of what you visualised in your head, the originality of it sure is something to be proud of, even if it doesn't fit into someone else's category. I'm sure if you wanted to build something to a high quality you would be more than capable of doing so, Your channel is great for doing something different to everybody else.!!

I have to commend you. If we all followed the trend no one would be different and nothing amazing would ever be created. Sam, well said! I've often wondered why I am so hooked on your channel. I'm mean, I'm a 46 year old family man who doesn't drink and drives a Pajero! But I think you sumed it up when you said it's art. I think what you do is art, some will love it and some will hate it. Just like artists paintings. Hats off to you for putting yourself out there when you know yourself, that you're not a qualified fabricator, suspension expert, engineer or engine builder...etc. your an every day bloke making money from doing what you love and putting it up for public viewing! I admire that and I reckon a lot of the haters do too. But what I reckon is most admirable, is how humble you are when it comes to admitting you just f#@cked up something or posting footage of yourself learning something for yourself and not being afraid of the criticism this may attract from the minority who may or may not know better. You have build it and learned a lot while you do that, as you yourself said. Enjoy it and use what you've learned. Not all thing need to be functional to be useful. You will learn more and more the more you change, fix and better it and in the end your clients are going to benefit from it. All of the best

While I dont like your content much these days, I really respected your early builds and how well they were done for self taught. Most old people that say "you ruined a classic" drive Hyundai i30s to car shows and have zero intention or interest of grabbing a wreck from a paddock to "save a classic".

Don’t worry about the haters mate! You did it for you, not for anyone else!! Even if it has no purpose, it looks cool!!, sounds tough!!, and actually drives now!! You let my misses climb up it at the brissy show, she loved that, but definitely keen to see more of it around!! Certainly a great conversation starter!!!

Shame people judge from behind their laptop. I’m a mechanic and trade built my own cars and it’s hard work especially when you step out of the box like you have it’s a long term project fixing the last 10% then to get judged by someone who borrowed his wife’s RAV4 to go to the show and pretend to know what he is talking about sucks. Keep smashing out the wild builds.

Glad you did this video explaining things. Not my cup of tea, but it doesn’t need to be. The way I see it If you’re building it you can do whatever your heart desires.

As far as your manifold goes, you should have welded the head flanges with the runners and annealed them ( i'm sure others have said the same ). Should have been able to not machine them at all after the rest of the welding was done. Proper way is to build the flanges up and re-machine flat....PITA I know...... I knew the build was a "Mad Max" type, and I wonder how many KB warriors have jumped up and down with the butchering of the movie cars.......SFA I bet....... I will be checking it out in Sydney if I'm not away camping.....

It will be orsum on the Tele-track river crossings, I had an XB ute 40 years ago, wish I still had it.

That intake flange needs to be way thicker for reliability, minimum 8mm post machining. 👌👌

the hate comments are so weird. literally love watching a random build like this. pointless or not it's still a sick idea, has been super enjoyable series and is the exact kind of thing i'd expect and want to see on this channel. too many people voices their pointless opinions like it matters what they think about something you're doing because you want to.

It's not how I would do it & probably like you, I would do it differently every time. I love it, its awesome & fun. There will always be someone to knock something, way of the world it seems.

I saw it at the show next to Sammy's 79. It looks sick. Totally fucken pointless, but that seemed to be the point. Sam Loves muscle cars and fully sick flexi four wheel drives. His inner child obviously thought 'fuck yeah, let's do both!' You're a fun dude and this build shows not only that, but you are obviously mad and that is why we love you. You should be able to take the mounts on the diff out wider to get some angle on front suspension

Mate don't worry about 2 bolt and 4 bolt mains. I have a few blown bbc and have never had a crank fall out yet.
