Nice one mate .👍9 days till my Aeros ant arrives and have had 12 hours training in 6 days so timing should be spot on for my second solo , first solo will be in an airborne xt with a 912 Rotax . The ant I’m assured is much easier to fly , love the pea bee though 👍🇦🇺and Aeros wing as well👌
I'm really excited for you. Its reminded me of when i was getting close. You go from a tank to a nimble machine. It just has less flare energy. It was the only major different I found. Let me know here how it goes.
Nicholas Street yeah mate did another 2 hours today in the choppy air , 14 touch and goes haha gotta love them landings best part I reckon . 2 more hours till my solo . 5 or 6 blokes with nanos around hear so am learning heaps 👍🇦🇺
Gday mate got the Aeros yesterday it now has 1.8 hours on it 😎👍what a sweet machine compared to xt tourer so light and precise and it only trims at 30 mph with the Fox 16 . Plan on taking it camping up and down the east coast of Australia along with the boat and bike . Hope to see a camping trip from your good self soon . 👌🇦🇺

Great flight Giles and you are so getting in to it now completely relaxed flying with one hand on the bar , compared to your first flight with a face like stone and white knuckles , now it looks like your having fun , sweet mate love it ..........
Haha, thanks Wayne, it was only one hand because it was lovely and smooth. It's like those boaty silky smooth evenings when paramotoring. Yes, relaxing but not being complacent. Hope to get back to Winglands when we are allowed.

Love seeing that grin post flight, you’re right that’s what aviation is about! Music depends on what I’m doing. Long distance some nice reggae, roots and dub. Cruisin’ at sunset locally might break out some classic metal I listen to growing up. Low flying requires tek drum and bass.
Love your video's Giles (both the PeeBee and Paramotor stream). With regards to the music, Yes most definitely (Armin van Buuren, Mix of modern day music). Your airfield looks amazing, this is something we can only dream of in the Netherlands. Keep them coming :)
I listen to no music on the hang glider, I have heard frogs and crickets from 1000ft above ground, also water birds on Lake George. Then of course Wedge Tailed Eagles though these are normally 5 meters from me when I jump at the screech. I love hearing nature air and land traffic are interesting. Nothing ruins a camping trip getting away from it all, more than some mufti with a sound system dropping you back in the cesspool civilization 😖😣😫 Wind distant thunder birds calling, this is worth listening to. The motor is going to be a problem...
Hi Blue, yes it's hard to get a natural flight with a propeller turning, but to some, the sound of a 2 stroke is music. I can only relate to when I used to fly paragliders and hearing the nature around me, with a backdrop of Vario beeps and tones.
Great stuff so got to the ten hour point, the engine almost full run in (Hence the high idle). So with you on your flying thoughts but I don't listen to music, while I am up (often did before flying my paraglider for comps or XC just to chill).
Can you do a video on different flight patterns? and maybe a lesson on what to avoid? I am scared of heights! I love your videos... Can you add LED lights to allow more visibility for traffic purposes? What about birds? Gust of winds?
The beauty of this sort of flying is you can fly (with in the rules) however you want. I just do a standard rectangular circuit to allow me to get down. With regards to what to avoid, that's too big for a video, that Airmanship and comes with just being in the air and under instruction. I'm not very good at heights, flying for me is so different so try having a trial lesson to see how you feel, its different..trust me. Lights are not required in the UK and unless they are airliner grade, they won't make much of a difference in normal lighting. Birds, in nearly 30 years, never had an issue and winds are just part of aviation. I hope that helps.
Maybe not usual but I have never got around to music, I don't use a moving map only paper and have no radio but do have a small sound verio I can fit inside one of my ear defenders. I always have something to do look for lift, find out where the hell I am, look for fellow aviators, check the fuel left and so on so time flies !
I still have my Air Chart, I have found a way of getting the Oudie Vario to Bluetooth to my headset, and can't wait to try thermalling again. I'm always looking out as well. One of my freeflying friends likes listening to Radio 2 on his Xc flights. He can tune his Beofeng in on his flight deck which made me chuckle. he said Ken Bruce normally finishes but the time the thermals start building.

The device is my Naviter Oudie 5 Pro. GPS, moving map, FLARM, and instrumentation. I still fly with an Air Chart but store it down the side. I might add some pink Floyd to the play list.
Ben, its an odd one, as it doesn't have a max take off weight. Because its being operated under the CAA Sub 70 kg exemption ( no licence required) the structure and fuel must be below 70kgs or 75kgs if a reserve is carried. To keep under my max 75kgs, I can only carry 11 litres. The stall speed must be below 20 kts which is why the landings are so short. My Cornwall trip was the absolute limit on fuel. If I want to carry more fuel, I would have to go SSDR which I can do with the PeaBee and put a G-Reg on it. I don't need to change anything else, except I can then operate under the SSDR 300kg limit. Sub 70 is a fantastic way to get into aviation without a licence and it's why I made my Paramotor to PeaBee series.
I chose my music to match the type of flying I’m doing.. So on my Paramotor it tends to be pretty chilled, anything mellow really... if I’m going dynamic in something feistier then I tend not to listen to anything.. I find it leads you into trouble!😎

Can you tell me, is the PeeBee the only sub 70 aircraft in existence that doesn't need a license, I mean anyone who can't fly already would be totally stupid to try and fly one but I just wondered if there ware any more fixed-wing trikes that meet the sub 70 class? I know obviously paramotors don't need an official CAA license!
The are 2 other flexwing designs I'm aware of, the Super 70 and the Snake www.airplayaircraft.co.uk/snake/ but I don't know of any fixed wing powered aircraft. That doesn't mean they don't exist. The UK Sub 70 exemption really stemmed for the paratrike and powered hang glider side of things.
Yes they can stall like any conventional wing. My PeaBee is really hard make it stall but the nose just gently drops through and you recover. For the UK Sub 70 exemption it has to stall at 20 knots or less, its to stop people putting really small wings on them.
I have it fitted but it just sits at 42mph. I managed to get over 50 mph with bar fully in and a lot of power. I might take it off as it doesn't give me anything useful.
