3rd flight of the morning, and the air was getting more active, but I'm getting used to the occasional bumps and pushes from the air. The instructor pointed out I was pulling in too much for too long and just burning up altitude on my prior launches, so I addressed that issue on this flight and experimented with open palms on the control bar, which another instructor had showed me on a tandem flight. I got into some lift on the way to the landing zone. (I was sorely tempted to do a turn to see if I could gain a little altitude, but I'm not doing anything without prior permission.) Landing was short of the target. Flared too soon, but rode it out.
