Angelo, they would because it's the same ride manufacturer (Intamin) for both Volcano (RIP) &.Phoenix.

Yup, it’s called a “cloned coaster.” Ride manufactures make preset layouts that Park can purchase that are cheaper than to buy and make an original layout. This one just happens to be a 9 inversion variant instead of the aforementioned “colossus” at Thorpe Park, an 11 inversion coaster.

I actually prefer that cool helix downward helix instead of the additional 2 inversions. Who needs all those inversions? They're not the best part of most coasters anyway.

There have been a total of 3 Intamin 8-Inversion coasters in the world, the first, Monte Makaya in Brazil, has closed already, now this one closed, and that only leaves one more operating, Avalancha at Xetulul in Guatemala. The ones you are talking about are the Intamin 10-Inversion models. Two of the old gen models exist: Colossus at Thorpe Park in the UK and 10-Inversion Roller Coaster at Chimelong Paradise in China. The other ones are new gen Intamin 10-Inversions: Crazy Coaster at Loca Joy Holiday Theme Park, China, Altair, Cinecittà World, Italy, Velikolukskiy Myasokombinat-2 at Wonder Island, Russia and Lightspeed at Wonderland Eurasia in Turkey. One more is under construction at Flamingo Land in the UK

@@luc6284 oh, then the 10 inversion ones have a similar layout as the 8 inversion ones. Because I've seen that starting layout and the triple heartline roll on at least 5 different coasters now :D

The 8-Inversion has a triple barrel roll followed by a helix at the end while the 10-inversion coasters end with a quadruple barrel roll, a turn and a final barrel roll into the brake run. The only difference between the new and old gen 10-inversion coasters is a steeper and curvier drop, new track design and lap bar trains
