Looked fairly standard to me . Certainly nothing to differentiate it from any other airline . I’m assuming the disgraceful comment was Klick bait

I thought the flight seemed ok. Cannot blame the pilot or crew that the meal served was substandard. I really liked the talk they gave, thanking the passengers for choosing Virgin. More to life than food. Otherwise loved the video, great filming, appreciate the vlog

Flying long distance in economy will cause health problems

Great vlog as always Lee considering your condition, music editing is top notch. The last airline I used was BA & found them to be first class & was well looked after but I was flying business class & the food on your Virgin flight did not look much, but maybe give it another year or so & some of these airlines might loosen the purse strings a bit after what they went through with Covid. Hopefully you are resting up Lee & spending quality time with your family. Obviously do not rush back until you are 100% fit & we will still be here waiting for your vlogs. Take care Lee

I didn't see the food served so cannot mark out of 10. To me though I would fly with Virgin myself as an outsider. I’m flying to Boston in September from Heathrow on Delta. This is a new one for me. My worst many years ago was Air India.

Any comments mentioning Lee's health are well out of order! Unfortunately most airlines have cut back which affects the level of service they provide. The aviation industry has been battered by the impact of Covid. It may be the case that the flight was particularly bad for Lee as he wasn't feeling well and that could be the reason for being extra critical of the lack of gratuities available unlike before. I hope your health improves Lee and keep up the good work. The effort you put in to your videos is remarkable 👍👏

I adore VA and their crew I have to be honest. I love their approach to allowing the crew to be who they are. I’ve had ice cream but only on the outbound/day flights, I suppose the only difference is I don’t fly in economy. I’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience. Loved the story about your dad picking you up. Those memories don’t leave you ❤

I flew that same JFK-Heathrow service back in April and have to say my experience was entirely positive. The aircraft ("Eliza Doolittle") was just two months old and was simply a delight. The seats were comfortable and the cabin crew very attentive. The food wasn't first class, but then I hadn't paid first class prices. But it was more than adequate for my needs and I had no complaints. In fact, my overall experience was so good that I've booked with them again to New York in a few months time.

It’s awesome to see @jetblue get the great feedback from customers on their service to London. Hope to see them keep expanding to England and Europe. Crazy to hear how Virgin Atlantic service has gone down hill.

Lee, It all started to go downhill when Virgin got into bed with Delta as a 49% shareholder. That food was disgraceful. The only way now is Upper Class but they severely restrict mileage redemptions on some routes. Just think, it could have been worse if you bought a virgin ticket and ended up on a decrepit Delta plane with even older crew. Hope you feel better soon.

I highly commend you for putting that vlog together, feeling so ill. Hope everything is going well right now. I totally agree with you on the cutting back of the inflight cabin experience, BA is no different, 21 hours into our flight to Sydney, we got a finger sandwich for breakfast.

Sad that, first flew VA in 1989 London to Miami to get married on the beach in my kilt, it was a special event then to fly with them, gave you loads of stuff free and really looked after you the whole flight with great food, ice cream and entertainment, BA were equally as good then and we used to just fly whoever was the cheapest after that first trip, we even brought Bikes back that we bought at KMart with no charges 😂

Most airlines seem to be having a race to the bottom regarding the level of onboard service and the quality of the food and drink. Maximize profit and screw the customer.

I enjoyed this as I do all your videos, you really let Virgin have it, I've flown Virgin in the past and it was so much better than most others at the time, its sad that its fallen, but once Delta was involved what do you expect. I have to say the Captains message at the end of the trip seemed so sincere and he spoke well even if that statement was prepared, Id Fly Virgin again as I don't have lofty expectations from any airline, I'm a picky eater and expect the food to be of no little use to me, I always take pringles cookies and candy with me then pig down once I hit a garden centre in the motherland. Get well Pal, we are all pulling for you.

It's a shame for sure, I used to fly to the States quite regualrly from Gatwick South on the Virgin Atlantic 747's, and experienced all three levels of cabin, economy, Premium economy and Upper class and always found it to be a great experience. I haven't flown for quite a while now so looks like standards have sadly slipped. This being said though, I did like the message from the Captain on landing back in England...On another note, if you happen to read this Lee, I hope you are looking after yourself and things turn out good for you. It's the same here in Australia mate😒 As we live out country..We need to catch a local flight to Brisbane, 1 hr. Then a 4-5hr flight to Perth, to visit Grandkids. I try to do the morning flight, in which you get a box with Yoghurt, a muffin and apple slices 😮 Or/ A piddly looking Omelette with bread 😝 Next food over the 5hrs is 1 little Lindt chocolate..a bottle of water, coke etc!! We pay over a $1,500 each return for this Luxery 😕 Bloody criminal..that is Qantas.

You have a point about the difference in food flying from the US. We use VA all the time from MAN (about the only airline flying to the US from MAN since Covid) and the food is always OK flying westbound rather than the other way.

Thanks again for another top flight check. I do like your style Lee ... quite different from the others, sometimes mundane, flight reports. Yes it's Delta nowadays who holds the Virgin Atlantic purse strings hence the cost-cutting. Two best things here are a) the captain with his excellent announcements and b) the A350.

I haven't tried jetBlue across the pond yet (I'm a Brit living in NYC) but right now my go-to is the Norse premium cabin for the redeye from NYC to London. Massive leather seats with 43-inch pitch and huge recline (not flat, obvs) for around $400-500 one way. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone! 🤫

There was a programme about airline food on Channel 5 tonight. Didn't watch at the time but intrigued so will watch on catchup.

I fly with the cheapest to be honest...money shouldn't dictate your flight plans not whether you get a ''microwave'' meal or not

If you think that that was bad, you want to try Air Canada... the meals were crap, 90% of the cabin crew were miserable and one of them was aggressively racist towards the Asian customers....

Never had a problem with virgin food has been okay.Nothing has changed with soft product I had everything like the amenity kit in vs5 to MIA. Pilot was also really thankful he definitely loves where he works!

I checked the cost of a litre of Jameson in Tesco yesterday and their cost was £32.50, whereas, $39 is £31,11, Tesco also had 75mL for £20.

I haven’t flown Virgin since 2017, however we are booked to go Heathrow to Orlando in January. Historically been my favourite airline but watching this video it definitely seems to have gone backwards. Cooked food looked rubbish!

1 litre Jameson was selling there at $39.99 (about £32.12). World Duty Free are quoting £22.79 at Heathrow. Tesco charge £26 if you have a Clubcard or £31 otherwise. Morrisons and Asda will match the £26 too 🥃

Hi Lee good evening. I just wanted to let you know that I was working at the bath house lowestoft restaurant on Saturday 27th may only for a few hours but not many customers. Gess what unfortunately I did not learn the coffee machine. Maybe when you come to visit the bath house lowestoft restaurant i may even make you a coffee myself. I am aware it us on the list of restaurants. Also we do have fish and chips ( lunchtime only) I believe it is Cod and chips. I really appreciate your time reading this. I've not used Virgin, ever. The seats seem overpriced on the transatlantic routes. There's better (and cheaper)competition on these route with nicer flight experiences, although I've had worse with Air France on return from LA. Take it easy Lee and come back when you're ready.
