KGSO, Greensboro, is my home airport. We see these jets flying in and out all the time for maintenance. I believe there's also a charter company that flies Honda Jets out of the field too.
If you want ultimate accuracy, don’t rely on the speed bugs too much. They don’t indicate very accurately. For best accuracy, a good practice is to pull up the VSpeeds on the FMC display for reference and compare those with the numbers on the speed tape. Also, you’ll want to get your latest VSpeeds just before you start your approach.
Lights in the HJet are all automatic including taxi and landing lights. You don't need to turn them on, just leave them at Normal mode. Taxi lights will turn on automatically when you start moving and off when you stop for example.
In the real world jet do the lights turn off when you're taxiing and you stop? It seems like they should remain on if you're stopped during the taxi process (but just guessing on my part I really don't know). How does it handle the landing lights? Do they turn on automatically when you are on final or where would they trigger?
I haven’t watched the whole video yet so I don’t know if you tried, but if not, you should try releasing the cabin oxygen masks. They actually deploy! Also, there is the mother of all “Easter eggs” at one o’clock.
I’ve encountered some strange behaviors with the glide path and VNAV whereby the display modes flicker between VS and GP, and the vertical profile on the FMS flickers in an incomprehensible way. HOWVER, I can attest that if you hold your tongue out at just the right angle, the entire system does work nicely from descent to approach.
Thank you for the video. I will fly the same route soon, making notes from your review. 🙂 I have a question though: how did you get this livery for the aircraft? I don't have the "HondaJet Elite S" logo on the engines, only the default HONDA. Your livery looks more exclusive. I don't have it in the livery browser. Several colours, but only with the default logos.
Good video! There are a couple of things though: 1) You don’t have to mess with the lights at all, you can just leave them on norm and go. It’s all automated. 2) You don’t need WT G3000 or PMS50 GTN installed. It comes packaged with the WT G3000. Thanks for doing the videos!
Thanks! Are you sure the WT G3000 is not needed though? From what I understood from their discord it does add some more features. Would be nice if there was a manual around where things like these could be read up. Similarly I understood that the PMS50 *is* required. But I might well be mistaken here. Usually I reference the productmanual for things like this, but I guess we'll have to wait a little for it to come. Regarding the lights, it's probably just because of different ways how things are done. In my airline we normally turn the beacon on *before* the engine startup. The automatic mode in the Hondajet is only turning it on when you press the first starter button, doesn't it? Similarly the taxilight would only come on when you actually start moving in NORM mode, right? I wish there was some more documentation out there on how these things actually work.
@@A330Driver I never thought about the lights that way, I guess there would be no certain way to ensure that the automatic light logic is following all possible procedures, guess that's why you can still override them! As far as the WT G3000, it says that in the #hjet-info-and-faqs channel. I believe there was a lot of confusion because the description on the marketplace when it was released said it was required. That has been removed from the requirements. Marwan has also said the same thing about the PMS50, infact on some systems the PMS50 interferes with the HJet (suspected to happen if you use an outdated version of PMS50).
@@wb5094 I specifically remember reading an emphatic statement from an official or credible source that the Hjet has a custom-designed/home-brew g3000 with independent logic, and that no other mod/addon is used or needed.
Any chance you're going to re-visit the HJet following it's latest E2 update bringing auto throttle, VNAV departures and other goodies to the aircraft?
I have this and fly it a lot (about 50 hours now), but the G3000 drives me crazy. I've read that it is basically a very old version of the Working Title G3000 (which is still 10X better than the stock version). The new WT G3000 is about 90% of the way there, and a lot better. Anyone know if they plan to update the Hondajet G3000 to the latest WT version? Thanks.
