Well done. I love Flint Ridge material (when you can get some thats not riddled with quartz seams). Its ready to go raw, no heat cooking necessary. Keep these videos coming man!

That's quite a skill. It's like your playing chess with the stone, thinking as many steps ahead as possible and sometimes having to do a workaround. Have noticed you have many different ways of getting around problem spots. The product is beautifully done and it's a good watch.

I definitely try to leave an extra platform in case one fails, and there’s almost always a solution, it’s just finding the best one! Thanks Scott!

Beautiful. Real nice flutes. Great percussion flake removals. So glad you used direct percussion to remove the flutes. That's a keeper!

Thanks for another great video Jake! I do appreciate it with the way you give the details on how you are applying pressure in different ways, such as when you were doing the prep work for the fluting. The point turned out real nice too. 👍 *I liked the shout out (15 minutes in) to Patrick, AKA Jack.

Your Platform was way nice. Nice Clovis. Made me want to go flint Knapp. I have this fluting device I devised this month Feb 2023-imagin a yardstick made of oak, cut two pieces 10 to 12cm long, then pitch two buttons of wood to one of each piece. The buttons hold the base either side of the flute platform. wrap the tip with a 1/2 inch wide strip of leather, then sandwitch between the wood and wrap both ends tight with string. I made 7 Clovis, thin, delicate, 14 cm long NO BREAKAGE, obsidian and flint. Good Luck. Spread the word.

Very nice Clovis! I just found your channel and am reviewing videos. May I ask where you obtain your indirect percussion stick and your flaking stick?

I collect it in south Alabama, just hard to come across really good pieces. If I ever sell some in the future I’ll let you know

@@GulfCoastKnapping yes please do brotha! Thank ya. I live in southeast Louisiana. Finding flint is very hard bc we just don’t have any. My ancestors used garfish scales mostly for arrow heads
