@@StaufferGarage are you able to change breaks, oil, and oil filter(maybe an air filter as well)? The bare basics might get you a good little chunk more in profit for very little added investment and very little extra effort(bating stuck tires, aluminum tims can be a bitch to get off sometimes lol) especially if you film proof of you doing the work. Could revenue polish dull headlights using your still and a polishing kit. The extra cost would maybe be about 250-350 bucks factoring in the polishing kit on top of the oil, breaks, and filter.

some of my past cars were like that, i was on the road 2hrs a day going to and from work and driving one of my friends around constantly, was always tired from work so basically i lived out of my car and was too tired to clean, the passenger side floor became a trash can with soda bottles and gas station food wrappers. now that im not driving as much i keep my car cleaner, sure it may get messy when im on a road trip but i usually clean it right after.

Pro Tips: With carpet that nasty, pull it. That filth has gone through to the padding and the odor will come back. You also found mold in the car, another reason to pull carpet. Second, you are introducing way too much moisture around the radio and electronics. Before you start with the "I've done this X 100s of times....." stuff, that doesn't make it right, it means you've been lucky. You're going to to that to the wrong Aston Martin and wind up buying someone a new $3500 head.unit.

Its not as easy as this. You need space! Getting the new title in hand isnt instant. It can take 2-5 weeks to get the title in the mail before you resell it. Then you also gotta try to sell a old beat up civic with 200k+ miles. Its gonna be taking up space for an average of 2months. Then you gotta factor in all the time you actually spent on the car. Like the time finding it, the time buying it, the time with dmv, the cleaning time, the time driving around, the time making sure its even in good mechanical condition and fixing up little stuff, the storage time, and then the time going to bunch of potential buyers until it finally gets sold. If you add in all these hours, you would made more money if you just stuck to cleaning customers cars.

Simply because they don’t want to put the work in to take care of their vehicles. I do a deep clean twice a year. Fall and spring, but also maintenance clean every couple weeks. Vaccume, dust. I'm a mechanic who also paints and restores cars, since i know everything i need about cleaning and stripping car interiors, one thing i never understood about professional detailers is why after so much work they don't remove the carpet and they insist on cleaning what i would have lit up in flames, the labor involved wouldn't be cheaper than a carpet pulled from the scrapyard that can be as low as 20$ and wouldn't look better than one either after the customer pays hundreds for an interior detailing. I've made many times the proposal of swapping a carpet for cheap and getting new insulation pads but never a detailer who gets a high price to clean something that needs to go. Another time there was a steering rack seal leak under the dash and after this extensive cleaning the car had a bold oil scent after citronella faded away, turned out when i pulled the carpet it had the insulation pads soaked into a huge oil pool. I've seen many cars shining and smelling fresh after an expensive detail to the extend of removing seats, etc and if you pull the door sill trim you'll find damp insulation pads, mold growing from underneath or behind the door panels, and a whole bucket of dust and debris that eventually starts coming out. I don't talk specifically for the video poster where this car is his and wanted to flip it, but i see people run a business where swapping things for cheap would be more profitable and less labor intensive than getting money to deliver a hidden swamp with lemon cologne to whoever pays the price.

@@g35s Yes but i believe it should not be done professionally when giving the customer the feel that the car would be totally clean afterwards, they can give the option to remove the carpet for extra cost but most i've seen they just do this without mentioning anything. In the matter of fact i did not remove the carpet on my father's car and i have uploaded a video on my main channel "John's Crafting Lab" detailing it, because it's a car that moves workers and construction materials everyday which i wanted to look better for a few days, but if i was paid for this service i would do the complete tear down of the interior even if i would give it as an option for extra cost, most the detailers i know do not remove any panel or the carpet and some do, but all of them mention a "deep clean" and do not describe what they will do.

Mold and humidity is much worse especially if you don't remove the carpet to clean it and burn the insulation in a bonfire and install new one.

Biggest thing I find that helps in my flips are better pics/descriptions. Often times they’re listed as “2005 civic. Runs/drives. $1000 cash” And then when you get there you can see several new parts or things that can make it more attractive on the flip. And i love the Cerakote Trim restore on my headlight restores!

Don't get stuck on brands. You can use peroxide which does exactly the same thing! The oxygen, does the trick of oxidizing (dah) the dirt molecules. Making for an easy clean. In fact you can use it all around the house. Example: Kitchen countertop and cutting boards... ;-) Depending on where you're located. It's probably even cheaper. Cheers ;-)

When it's dirty to this point, would it not be easier to just replace the floor carpet all together? The floor carpet is $160 ordered online. The economy of time is substantial.

You could go beyond that; and actually redye the carpet grey with a spray can. It will make the carpet look brand new because even with a shampoo machine not all stains will be removed

It’d be nice if people included what they’d have to pay in taxes in their profit margin. No one ever does that. We know that flipping cars for profit is taxable income so, it’d be nice to see how to factor it into one’s assessment of vehicles to flip.

Why not take the carpet completely out the car and do a super clean on it? I see alot of detailer remove seats and center consoles, you might as well go ahead and take the carpet out so you can blast it with a pressure washer!

That looks like the inside of my Explorer I got for free. I've vacuumed it twice and rug doctored it now, but it was pretty terrible. The worst was the back seat area and the rear. It was soaked in animal blood because it was used for hunting. There was so much blood I got 3 full tanks before it ran somewhat clear. These car detailing videos are really satisfying.

A tip for anybody who didn’t know this. You can dye carpet. Just take spray paint to it. I would remove the carpet if you’re doing a color change though. I’ve done it many time detailing at dealerships. I’m about to dye my tan carpet black in my Accord.
