I'm about to install a Flo valve in my home. What kind of grease should I use on the connection O-rings? I want to be sure I don't use the wrong type of grease and ruin them.
Why are the product unions and male fittings made of plastic? A majority of my house is made of copper (strong pipes and fittings); concerned this device would be the fail point due to it being the only plastic in the system. Can someone at Moen-Flo further explain?
Hello Pete and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff includes brass tailpiece fittings and plastic union nuts. The Flo Shutoff is rated for a maximum continuous pressure of 175 psi. So far I’ve had 2 of these units die on me after only 24 hours. Moen support has been great but I have no explanation as to why I’ve have 2 of them stop working and completely lock up

@@moenfaucets Why didn't you answer the question? Can Flo be installed into 1/2" copper pipe? I'm guessing the answer is 'no' because in the 3/4" Flo instructions it would've mentioned to use reducer couplings.
did you ever find an answer to this? I have the same question. The only accessible location I can install is in an area where the pipe has already been reduced from 3/4" to 1/2". I'm thinking I could install a pair of reducers on either side.
@@RobertBuchanan1 In BobsPlumbingVideos, "Flo by moen install", the inlet to the Moen is 3/4" but for the outflow from the Moen he reduces from 3/4" to 1/2" and it operated okay. However, it's best to call Moen technical department because even if it can be installed with 3/4" to 1/2" reducers, will programming the unit allow that? Also, see some poor reviews where it failed after the 1 year warranty and Moen won't repair it, instead tells people to purchase another unit.
