What’s the name of that little top hat part between the hub and the freehub? I need to order that specific piece but can’t seem to find the right name for it.
Might seem like a weird question... But I'm looking to buy my FIRST pair of carbon clincher wheels at a nice price. You guys are the cheapest I have found so far! But I'm worried about the design and reliable in comparison to other big companies such as ZIPP...etc... Can you tell me more about how reliable, advantage and disadvantages of your wheels with all honesty? Cheers.
iHumpy A.V.A, Thanks for writing. Let's start with price. The reason you are seeing the big price difference is because of the way the wheel gets to you. Companies like Zipp use a standard distribution model that looks something like this. Manufacturer -> Zipp -> Distributor -> Retail Store -> You We use a consumer direct distribution model that looks like this. Manufacturer -> FLO -> You Each time a product goes from one entity to the next, the price goes up. With the standard distribution model the price is marked up 3 times between the company and you. With us it's only marked up once. As far as reliability goes, our wheels have been excellent. There are hundreds of reviews on forums like slowtwitch and beginner triathlete. We have nearly 10,000 wheels on the road now and reliability has been great. We also offer a 2 year warranty and have a good reputation for customer service. Finally design. We are both mechanical engineers who used CFD to design our shapes. Our wind tunnel results on our web page show how beneficial our wheels are. We use some of the best factories in the world to make our products and all wheels are hand built. I hope that helps Chris
