Noah Braukman, ask and ye shall receive. Finally had a chance to go out and do some spring chinook fishing. Had a good day with one bobber down on a tributary, and converted it to a keeper hatchery chinook. Sandshrimp with Anise/Krill super gel scent was the ticket, using a 2 oz float, 60 lb braid, and 30 lb mono leader to a 3/0 size hook. Thanks for watching.

Beautiful fish! When it comes to eating, they're called Kings for a reason, IMO. After filleting I take the back bones and hang them in the smoker too. Not much meat but very good. That's pretty water you're fishing!

Thanks Steve. Every bit of meat counts for sure, and every king I can catch is a blessing.

Thanks for the video. I am always amazed that dark colored spring chinook have beautiful meat unlike their fall cousins. When I first started fishing for Spring Chinook I threw back a few that were dark not knowing that the meat quality was night and day compared to a Fall Chinook. Now I keep the dark hatchery springers if I can catch them.

Thanks Al. Yeah, fall fish are a different story for sure. Can’t wait to see more bobber down videos of your adventures.

@@NorthwestOpenSeason We got a few steelhead and spring chinook bobber downs this year. Nadia has been super busy lately and she told me that she will make some time to get those videos up and running.

Haha, thanks. I’ve yet to figure out a good way to net a fish on my own with a 10’6” rod
