Cool. Exactly what I needed. I had issues for the last 16 years. I had enough after 3rd aerator, 2md pump, and fried box, which was mechanical. Looking story. So I set up 1 float to be on demand and no issues for last 5 years, Norweco 4 tank Singulair system. So finally.after 2nd pump in 2 years got a new box install, not a Wasp but ACP2 and shorten back the 1 switch, re-engage 2nd and alarm set up again.
I don't know if you are still around but I have questions. It has been really cold in Missouri that last couple of these My well quick working for a couple of days because of the cold weather . i was dumping water in the toilet to get them to flush. After the well started giving me running water. The warning alarm on the septic tank started go off . I silence the alarm. I went out where the septic pipes line were i call it the septic field where the septic tank sprayed water on the field, i don't know term i noticed that it was kind of cover with weed and ice so I took an cleared this out being very careful not to step on the plastic pipes where the water dispenser every day. The alarm stop sounding. Meanwhile it's still getting cold at night. It seems when I run the water like doing laundry, running the dishwasher, taking a shower after while the alarm went go off. Then 10 hours or so it will be ok I went out today to look at where the float is at. I push down on the float gently and I could hear the pump running. The water wasn't all the way up so I kept pushing the float down a little. The water started to go down, the alarm went off. Keeping in mind that we just had the septic tank clean out and the pump checked. The septic tank guy said everything was fine. I am thinking that because of the abnormal cold weather we have been having might be the problem I know this is kind of a lot to read into but what do think
Great information, I'm going to replace my float switches and my pump seems to be pretty high in the tank. Are there any rule-of-thumb guide lines on the depth in the tank?
You said you have to remove the pump to replace the floats. The bottom float on my 3 float is out on my 15 year old Hoot system. What's the difficulty level in removing/reinstalling the pump? Since I have to do it to replace the bottom float should I consider also replacing the pump (in your other float video you said the pumps generally last 10 years).
On a hoot you run into a couple things. One is they could have sensors instead of floats they will be in the same place as the floats would the left hand corner from the pump. If you have floats they will be there as well. One thing you have to do is find the cap where they are to remove them. We always relocate them to the pump pvc pipe makes everything easier down the road to service. If you have sensors you are up a creek do to the control panel. The pumps will last a long time we have had them go 20 years but people don’t generally maintain the system like they should be clean it every five year etc. if you have pictures we can help but i hope your floats are not in the corner if they are this will be pretty difficult.
He said he installs the floats on the same type the pump is on. If you build a float tree, a separate conduit cut just below the lid and screwed to the inside of the tank, you can access the floats that way. Play simply unscrewing the float tree and pulling it out. That's what my septic has. I believe he has many reasons why he ties the floats to the pump but if that were the case at my house I would have had to pay somebody to come do it.
My sprinklers come on several times a day and I can hear my airartor splashing (working) smell is getting bad. I watched this because I thought my floats might be too low,but your bottom float is probably were mine is. Oh and I add bacteria sometimes. What else can I do?
how does the ovveride system work, my pump wont stop running and burned the pump relay in the on position, I replaced the pump relay, insuring the wires are in the correct positions,. my pump still runs even though the tank is empty. do I need a bottom float?
So float 1 to 2 approx 6" tail gives 1 foot, 2 foot and guess same with 3rd light alarm float. The 3rd flot should be about how many inches from the hole? Maybe 6" below hole? Asking because had to replace 2 pumps Installers royally screwed this up in the sense it was set below grade and didn't settle tank's to tanks dropped along with soil so all tanks flooded all the time.Risers helped but still flooded. After last incident it seemed like the panel didn't work so set up with 1 float to on demand. Honestly haven't had a problem for like 6 years. Newer septic gut so he is having find. I am going to relocate the 3 floats back and rewire the box again. I have a funny feeling that when all this flooding and aerator worebwas frayed by vibrations maybe the odd currents screwed up a float or the wires always getting submerged may have damaged #2 float. So hooking up it all again and test before I het a new one like a Wasp or acp2
Yes the Lowest float (timer float) and the Middle float (override pass float) are spaced evenly with approximately 6inch Tail. If you have any questions please contact us at 936-681-8198
I've never had a float switch that lasted more than a year or two...I've tried just about every brand, they all fail. Really annoying because when they fail the septic system pump either runs constantly or not at all (depending on where the sliding switch mechanism inside the float gets stuck).
Need to see what your pump running amp rating is. You might need a panel with a contact switch to take the load to eliminate this issue. Sje rhombus pump master is what we use and have no issues.
@@wholesalesepticsupply9801 The failures have always been mechanical and not electrical in nature. In other words current passes through fine but the movable bearing or whatever it is gets hung up and stops triggering the cycling of the switch.
