Hope Floor is doing well. Nightwish had to cancel their last show (today 22/6/2023) in Oslo because of Floor health issues. Read somewhere not related to her pregnacy. Kay posted health first. Floor and Joost did an interview on their last album (2005?) and realy believed in the future of After Forever. Can imagine Floor was devistated that in 2009 it suddenly came to a stop. Joost composed this song and was very proud of it, Floor told in the interview with FaceCulture. In those days they did it in Dutch so few people know this one. Later they switched doing the interviews in Enlish. Floor,, the baby you and the Wolfman, I wish you all good health!
Thank you for your reaction to After Forever the band Floor was in longer than she has been in Nightwish as of 2023!!! In my opinion After Forever made some of the best music Floor has ever done. And it was the music she wanted to make and helped to write. About this specific song: I think your husband would have enjoyed the keyboard solo :) Joost van de Broek whop also plays in Ayreon and is the producer for Epica. Hope your husband recovers soon and you both are doing well.
Hi SueSue...Even though I have all the CDs of After Forever I am no expert in the Band history....but what I know is that the guy who sang first must be Bas Mas who joined the band after Marc Jansen left the band in 2002 to co found Epica. The other growler on guitar was with Floor a few years.. His name is Sander Gormans. Great song already in 2007...not everybodys taste... I like it....and for shure Floor had all the possibilities already at that time ....every time I hear her sing I get goosebumps 😊
Such a great song. The angular guitar played by Sander Gommans is a Gibson Explorer - a guitar that Gibson developed at the same time as the more famous Flying V and the much less known Moderne. Mark Jansen had left 5 years before this recording and set up the band which became known as Epica. Gommans went out with Floor and his personal issues played a significant role in the dissolution of the band and subsequent breakdown of his relationship with Floor (which she wrote some songs about in ReVamp).
Another great reaction!. One of their most progressive songs and Floor is so impressive. Several people have mentioned that Sanders and Floor dated or were together for a few years like it was a casual thing. It wasn't. They had been in a serious long term relationship when he cheated on her with her vocal coach. The betrayal and pain she felt was huge. Not sure why people try to minimize what happened since it had a big influence on the music she wrote for Revamp and the song While Love Died for her Northward project. On Sing Meinen Song, one of the other singers did a version of While Love Died and Floor got very emotional discussing the song and said about the relationship, that in the end all that was left was hate. Some people blame the band breaking up on Sanders burnout but the end of their relationship and how it happened made continuing impossible. Sanders did eventually end up marrying her old vocal coach.
The members at the time were besides Floor and Joost, Sander Gommans doing the grunts and playing guitar together with Luuk van Gerven and Bas Maas and on drums Andre Borgman. They also got a new producer at the time in Gordon Groothedde, who had a great role the last couple of years in supporting and writing together with Floor towards her solo career and helped her find her own 'Floor sound'.
Yes finally !! After Forever is ignorant underrated. This is one of the best prog rock made with a Floor destined for greatness 🤘 Hope W is soon better, missing him a little bit….
Surely one of the most dramatic and wonderful performance .by Floor from her early career. This is also a great illustration of the talented and truly progressive nature of the whole band. I hope the cancellation of the Nightwish concert is not an indication of anything serious for Floor on her journey towards becoming a two time mum.
I have no idea, but having had three children I can definitely see why something might occur for them to pull her out. It could be low or high blood pressure or cramping due to dehydration. Praying for the best!
Hello SueSue, the young Floor Jansen already with her incredible vocal range. Dreamflight is an absolute masterpiece. Other great After Forever songs are Black Tomb, Intrinsic, and Monolith of Doubt.

Bas Maas is the guitarist on the left, who took over the duties when Mark Jansen left the band, and has been with Doro for years now - also the growling guitarist, Sander Gormans, who was with Floor back then, is now married to Amanda Somerville from Avantasia, Exit Eden Trilium, Kiske /Somerville and Epica to name a few and they have 3 children together

I've just returned to Scotland from Finland having seen the last two Nightwish show's, sadly, for quite a while. Both the Kitee and Vaasa shows were absolutely wonderful, the band were on fire, how I will miss Emppu's comedic antics on stage and Floor, well, she was absolutely awesome, but this tour, physically and emotionally has taken it's toll, she looked tired and in need of some TLC. That said, her voice was magnificent, she was hitting notes that a woman in her condition should not be capable of reaching when there is a new life inside her pushing and pressing against organs which should, in theory inhibit her capabilities quite considerably. In Kitee, Floor was visibly emotional and close to tears as she left the stage after the finale of Ad Astra, a Superwoman, absolutely, but a human one. Enjoy your chill time before the birth Floor, you are and always will be in our thoughts and in our heart's. Our Valkyrie Queen!
Mark Jansen left After Forever in 2002, so he was not in this concert. I did notice a lyric video on RU-vid of Face Your Demons (2005) with Marco Hietala. Did he really perform as guest vocalist with After Forever so long ago?
