One more thing as it was stated before. Rolf's version was the one that you were worried about being blocked earlier in the video. His version is definitely Latin. It's salsa. That's why Floor was worried about what to do with his music. When she found out about that song, she then took it upon herself to not only learn the lyrics phonetically (she doesn't speak Spanish at all), but completely change the tempo of the song, and turn it into a Latin power ballad. That gave the song an entirely different meaning and feel, which brought new life to it in the Latin community. As I stated earlier, this song was released as a single the day after this very show aired. It hit #1 in Argentina, and Peru, top 5 in Chile and Bolivia, and top 10 everywhere else in central and south America. She now sings this song in her solo shows. That's how good this - and she - is.

It is not said enough, just how great the band is. Floor liked them so much that she hired as many of them to be her backup band on her solo tour. Only a few couldn't, because of prior commitments. When you start reacting to her Amsterdam concerts, you will recognize many of them.

No one expected something like this, that Floor would choose a salsa song and sing it in Spanish, adding metal elements. Floor is the most versatile singer I know of...as everyone knows, she can even sing the phone book! But seriously, she is an amazing musician, she just slips effortlessly into the genre of music that she happens to be singing, be it rock, metal, ballad, pop, foreign language whatever...she just excels at what she does, she is a perfectionist. She is a one off, we will not see her like again.

Yes, she herself found her way to solo again, due to this program. She got encouraged to make a show of her own, and she did. After that she started writing her own songs again. Also Henk got a reboost on his career, Emma and Rolf got deeply into the Dutch music scene. And perform more than before.

Que Se Siente translates to English as "How does it Feel?". As Rolf said, he wrote this as a letter to his girlfriend at the time who broke up with him, and he was completely devastated by it. So instead of writing the letter and sending it to her, his producer told him to send it to him instead, and they wrote the entire album based out of that letter, and this was one of the signature songs from that letter. His girlfriend moved on at that time to someone else, in which her parents had stated that she was better off without him. So he's asking her, "how does it feel". He hit #1; who knows what happened with her.. but it will sting forever with her and her family because they are now immortalized in a song that will outlive all of them.

@@jamescurfman3284 It was more her parents' influence than her being a jerk, at least according to what Rolf said. But it has less to do with petty revenge than using his songwriting ability as an outlet instead of doing what other typical guys would do for revenge. Besides, since the song hit #1, every time it is played, everyone will be reminded of how she made him feel. Like I said, she and that entire incident are now immortalized.

@@athlonen Yup. I realize that Rolf was very angry and very hurt when he wrote the letter and his songwriter also must have felt that. I still think in this case, the woman is the jerk in that relationship for having done that to Rolf. (BUT, well, we did get a GREAT song out of it...) NEVER EVER let OTHER people influence how you FEEL about anything, but especially how you feel about people that you love. Your emotions are THE ONE THING that nobody should ever be able to strip from you. Was Rolf REALLY no good for her? Somehow I doubt it and now nobody will ever know. I think she let her family sway her, which is a NO-NO in my book. That means she is a push-over, destined to be victimized her whole life because she does not stand up for what she believes in (if she believes in anything at all). Or, she DIDN'T stand up for herself over one of THE MOST IMPORTANT things in her own life, which would have been a significant other. NOBODY, not even my own Mom, gets to TELL me what I FEEL. Nobody gets to tell my heart what to do or that it is somehow wrong to feel the way it feels. You absolutely cannot apply pure logic to any relationship with any living being. Her family convincing her that somebody else was 'better for her' is pure B.S. and she let it happen. She's the jerk.

Think? It was released as a single the day after the show aired. That week, It hit #1 in Argentina, #1 in Peru, Top 5 in Bolivia, and top 10 in every other Latin American country. Not bad for someone who only learned this song phonetically in a week's time.

The original version was in the part you partially cut out because of copyright block. Yep, believe it or not, that was the same song. Rolf wrote it as a Caribbean Salsa. Floor metallized it! Plus, she added another new language to her list of eight languages she can sing in.

Henk and Emma also did a song together on this show. Vivo per Lei. It is in Italian and English. If you like Henk you should check this out 😉. Or Tim Akkerman's version of Nemo, which he sung for Floor....

I heavily concur, especially about the duet between Emma and Henk. They absolutely slayed that, and for me personally, that was a bigger surprise than Phantom of the Opera, because I listen to Floor for more than 25 years and knew she would hit that out of the park.

Guess who suddenly had a rather nice hit (Itunes) with this song in Latin America not a week after this episode aired? yes her version was well received in the Latin world ;) Rolf is a very animated person, he is incapable to hide his excitement over anything, really fun and nice guy... who can sing very well, check out "Hotel California" he did for Floor, you'll love it. I'm happy to see you check out more from this show, eventho they are not the easiest to work with on the copyright front, keep exploring tho! :D

Watch her performance of "Slow, Love, Slow" live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, October 15, 2012. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mSzEJ855YFg.html At this concert, Floor was only 2 weeks into Nightwish, so not as refined as later performances , but certainly Floor. The video quality is not that high, but the enjoyment factor is so much higher and not only she, but also the band radiates that. Pure ecstasy to see how Juka (drummer) and Emppu (lead guitarist) are absorbed in the Jazz.

Ooooooo! Another reaction! i thought you were done for today so I was surfing around RU-vid seeing what was new and then this popped up. I love all of Floor's performances on Beste Zangers...so much variety with the songs she chose, making it a real smorgasbord and it showcases her versatility as a vocalist. This was a really fun one...not so emotional like a couple of the others. So, since you're turning into a Metalhead I figured I'd give you another metal song suggestion. How about some Iron Maiden - Aces High? Here's the official video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Xg9aQvjMS60.html)...I would normally say to check out their live stuff because they put on quite a show, but with the studio version you can hear the vocals and instruments better...maybe once you familiarize yourself with their music, you could watch some of their live vids. Your second attempt at Beste Zangers was best. Remember often the "e" in Dutch is a "schwa" pronounced as "uh" Bestuh Zangurs with the "a" from "yacht" again like in "Jansen". It is funny that "Beste" can in this case be translated as "Best" and "Dear". A little linguistic joke for you.

My original language is Spanish, and I can say you are correct, the pronunciation of "siete" and "siente" are very close, the difference is just in the "n". Spanish does not have long and short vowels, consonants have only one sound with very few exceptions, so if you know how to pronounce "siete", you can correctly assume how to pronounce "apriete" (tighten) "diente" (tooth) or "cliente" (client) and many more. Floor makes a great effort to pronounce correctly. Only a couple of words here and there, but I could understand what she was saying almost the entire song. And she places that feeling and that emphasis in the right words, you know? The subtitles are OK, not my best choice to share the exact meaning but OK, except for "¿Cómo hiciste para decirme adiós?", it means "How did you manage to day goodbye to me?" The question posted implies there was a feeling, a relationship, how was it so easy to end the relationship? In the subtitles says "as you did" instead of "how did you manage".

Hiya. This isn't a criticism, I'm just curious. Maybe it's a playlist thing? But why do you always cut off and stop several seconds before the end of the videos you react to? It drives me nuts! LOL. Like this one, for instance. You stopped and froze Floor with 11 seconds still to play. Is it so you don't run straight into the next video?
