Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a common mental health condition that affects more than just veterans.
The disorder can affect any age group with women being twice as likely to develop PTSD than men.
1 in 13 people will develop PTSD in their lifetime and are 3 to 5 times more likely to have a depressive disorder, higher risk of suicide and 46,4% higher chance of addiction.
Worldwide prevalence of PTSD in the general population is around 3,9%.
Estimated 354 million adults, globally suffer from PTSD.

I am thrilled to share my new single, "Invincible," with all of you. Originally written specifically for the Invictus Games, this song holds a very special place in my heart. As someone who has witnessed the effects of PTSD in my close circle, I wanted to create a powerful anthem that brings hope and strength to those who are struggling with this condition.
'Invincible' is a song about resilience, about pushing through difficult times, and about finding the strength to start again. I believe that this message is one that will resonate with many, as PTSD affects 1 in 13 people in their lifetime, and women are twice as likely to develop it as men.
I hope that 'Invincible' will remind you that even in the darkest of times, there is always the possibility of coming out stronger. You are not alone, and no matter how difficult the journey may be, there is always hope for healing and self-discovery.

Hello, Floor. It took me a few days to gather my thoughts, after the initial shock caused by this song. I remembered how your performance in GLS was the cry that helped me gather my energies and get out of the depression that had been crushing me for years, like a release. Beyond the stylistic differences, "Invincible" follows the same direction, of spirit triumphing over matter. Although I have never had PTSD I relate very much to the lyrics of this song. It’s amazing as I discovered Floor 2 years ago and she literally changed my life. I see beauty in the world again after a dark decade. Last night reading through the lyrics, I had tears rolling down my cheeks. It’s a familiar thing to be brought to tears by Floor but it really was a reminder of how special Floor has been in helping me rise up. ‘Broken but beautiful’ are incredible lyrics. I sent the link to this video to my psychologist one week after I discovered it. I have PTSD and it destroyed my life. I have been having difficulty trying to step out of the fear, but listening to this song makes me believe that I can. My psychologist says this song is perfect for my 2023 journey. She is correct. Floor isnt just an artist but what an amazing human being she is. Its so obvious she loves EVERYONE, Her love for animals and people says everything about her. Thanks for the song Floor. I was a Marine wounded three times in Vietnam. Not only do we live our lives remembering what we went through, the friends we watched die and the thoughts of people we killed. But as Vietnam vets we also remember the way when we came home to a country who hated us and some were spit on. And for what ? Sadly humans seem to love wars, we start so many. Today I prefer to stay away from people and will die alone. But one of my finest memories in this life was meeting Floor. Thank you for that.

My whole life since early childhood has been trauma. And PTSD is very real and can be triggered by the smallest thing and it takes you right back to the trauma. Stress and Trauma is My Name. This song touches me very deeply. I myself am diagnosed with cPTSD, Nightwish's songs have accompanied me through a very difficult time. "The darkness around me, shores of a solar sea"; I've always tried to see the light on the edge of my darkness, even when I was deliberately re-traumatized in a hospital and was about to take my life, Floor's voice always gave me strength. Seeing her live in January 2020 was something very special for me.

I was born with serious mental issues, to the point of dissability. Nobody understood my teenage years, in 2002, at 13 years I first listen to Sleeping Sun by nightwish, in 2004 I first listen to After forever, those 2 groups change my life, and now you are one. My dream since 2002 was to visit Finland, i was scared i couldnt because of my fears, but last November i went to Rovaniemi, I listen to your voice singing sleeping sun while looking at the sunset at a frozen lake, and i cry at the beauty of it. I have seen you in tour 2 times already, and i want to see you more, you are incredible and an inspiration to any woman. I always say that i'm not disable, im able, things may be harder, but i'll always be able to do everything, and everybody with mental issues, it gets better, and you are able, asking help is not the end of the world, its the begining.

Hello Floor, I developed PTSD in a badly damaged building in a quake that destroyed the centre of my city. Even now 11 years later I find it difficult to go up in a high rise. I have PTSD due to several horrific incidents in my working life for which i was not trained or prepared for. For quite some i thought i was ok, i pushed it all to the back of my mind, i then started to wonder if i could have done more and over analysed my actions, the end result was a sense of personal failure, deep depression that lead me to thinking about ending my own life. I was very fortunate i had good people around me that recognised something was up and they intervened, provided immediate help and arranged counselling. For so long i had felt i was weak and alone. i have since learnt that couldn't be further from the truth. I love how Floor as raised this issue in such an emotional yet positive way. No one is weak, we are unique and deal with life and our experiences in different ways and that's ok. For me at least this song hits like a train, confirms what i now know about myself and provides a big reassuring hug, thanks Floor.

Love this song. I was abused at home as a child and bullied at school. I turned to alchohol to cope with the demons I had. I've been sober for almost 8 years now and finally got the help I needed. As I was struggling with my addiction, nightwish and you gave me the strength I never knew I had. This song speaks to me on such a personal level. This world is blessed because you are in it. So beautiful and relatable. I'm a military spouse and daily my husband struggles with his PTSD. If I needed to hear words of encouragement, the timing of this was wonderful. Currently dealing with my terminally ill grandmother, and my aunt who's been caring for her has cancer, and my sister who's also retired military also deals with her PTSD daily, and though she is still in remission, there's always a chance her cancer will come back, so I'm being pulled 4 different ways some days. But this was beautiful and had me moved to tears.

It's crazy what Floor's voice does to you. This video of course also has the another level of making you cry as the subject / story is what it is. But I'm just listening to Into the Unknown and started to cry, too. To a Disney-song.. But it's Floor's voice and way of connecting herself - and the listener - to the song and feelings inside. Thanks for being awesome. Whenever i went into my "dark place" i remember that i'm still there and breathing, it is painful and scary but at the end of the day i always came to realization that it doesn't kill me, only i myself could do it which i had thoughts about doing it but i'm glad i never crossed that line. "Your devil's bane is yours to end now, cause all these time you're invincible" that phrase really hit me hard. For all the people that fighting with themself, don't give up man, i would not say it will get better cause lots of times it sure really isn't but if it get worse try to answer, "did i seriously done everything i can?" and don't lie to yourself, stop blaming everything around you while neglecting yourself. If u try to leave that hole behind, forgive yourself and step into new environment you'll be surprise on how different life could be. peace out.

Two things: I've managed to deal twice with this (better the second time) after the very unexpected and traumatizing death of my father when I was 16 and again when I survived being hit by a lorry (on a zebra crossing mind you) by only a breadth of a hair (complete with NDE and all that weird, somewhat eldritch, stuff) - and yes, the lyrics are right, you come out more resilient, at least I did. On a way less serious note: the "Floor on her own" songs to me have a distinct "late-80s-hard-rock" feel to them, like a more modern Pat Benetar! Love it! Best regards Raoul G. Kunz

Who is cutting all the onions 😭 'Broken but beautiful', it gets me every damn time I listen to it 😢 A truly beautiful song and video. I adore how lyrically and instrumentally it builds up gradually in the song but also builds you up as you listen to it, giving a somewhat sense of accomplishment and invincibility by the end. Crying over this song. Been battling CPTSD for over 10 years after a relationship with a sociopath who abused me mentally and physically. Also was stalked and raped by him several times. Had to rebuild my whole life, my whole self... Made huge steps forward, still dealing with it on the bad days though and being a nurse myself during corona and the crisis in healthcare right now is also pretty traumatizing. This songs really means alot, especially from my favorite artist ❤️

I think I read somewhere that Tuomas stated at some point that if Floor left Nightwish that would be the end of the band. Her solo works definitely show why: it's not just about the vocals and the technical skills, it's about the empathy and the emotions and the mastery of the personas that an artist uses to convey their message and I think that's where Floor makes all the difference. She could be on stage with the "worst" band in the whole world and make it a success just by being there and being herself Like yeah, the voice is an instrument, and like all instruments it's not just the technique, but how you use it and what you use it for that makes the musician more or less "valuable" as an artist

I don't have PTSD, but, I have plenty of mental demons. Having music in my life is the number one way of coping with it for me. I cannot say how much the likes of Nightwish and your music, along with lots of other groups out there have helped me on the days when I've felt like ending it all. I know I won't fully recover, but I can cope. Thanks.

Nice to hear your support for those with PTSD. On the statistics listed an important caviat is that instances of trauma, addiction, and suicide are suffered far more by men; though the PTSD diagnosis is more likely in women. PTSD is a human response to integrate a terrible trauma shock, one we are all vulnerable to... this vulnerability is precious and your path to healing and peace.
