This is from her solo concert in Amsterdam 2021. I think the first time she performed it was on the 2019 Beste Zangers, a Dutch TV show, where she also first performed Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort. At this concert, she performed songs from across her career, songs from After Forever, ReVamp , and Nightwish. Floor did covers during lockdown, at home, including "Let It Go" from Frozen, and a song that may really interest you, "Alone" made famous by Heart. Btw, Jansen is pronounced (Yan-sen). For countries like The Netherlands , Finland, and that area, the "J" is usually pronounced like the English "Y".
Cool, thanks for the good info. Alone (a song I've seen Heart play a couple of times in concert) has been mentioned several times in the comments, so I'm very intrigued. And thanks for the pronunciation; I know some German (which would also sound like Yan-sen), but I wasn't sure if that applied to Finnish.
@@richardwest6358 Never said Heart's version was the original. I SAID it was made famous by them. And it wasn't MANY years before, Heart's version was 1987, original was 1983.
Enjoyed your reaction. This performance IMO feels more like the original then her first performance of the song on Beste Zangers. A little more "belty". I like the Beste Zangers performance more because it is even more stripped back and feels more fragile and emotional. Highly recommend you watch that performance as well, even if just for yourself. Can't put my finger on why but it definitely gets me more emotional hearing that performance. Might be the more intimate setting. Beste Zangers is not a talk show but a singing show where Dutch singers from lots of different genres come together and sing each other's songs. If you don't want the banter between songs you can watch the official videos which only have the performances.
Based on other comments, I just watched the Beste Zangers performance, and I completely agree with everything you said. I'll have to look out for other songs from that show (I assume it translates to "Best Singers")
All of the recordings of Floor's performances in the Beste Zangers show were excellent and I actually felt that the commentary added to those songs, but this one works too, glad the girls enjoyed it!!
Oh, you actually do have daughters !!! 😂 Nice that you react to some Floor on her own too ! I was at that concert in Amsterdam, she performed songs from her previous bands, from Nightwish, and some covers... It was a great night !

@@DadDaughtersandDrinks She crowdfunded the recording of this concert with "Floorfunders" like myself having the pleasure and honor of chipping in. The campaign was so successful, she was able to film some behind the scenes stuff as well. The band backing her up was a version of the "Marcel Fisser Band" consisting of many members from Marcel's "Beste Zangers" band, which as the official in-house band, helped her shape her version of this and other songs which she performed there.
Wonderful to finally meet your beautiful daughters! You are correct about the teams. We all really love everything Nightwish, but it is always difficult to replace an iconic and beloved vocalist. Even when you now have the greatest singer on the planet. So much more to experience.
One can find this entire concert on Floor's YTube channel and if you liked this I suggest you give the entire concert the same attention. Especially like Slow Love Slow, Storm in a Glass, and Nemo. It was pretty darn special. But then, few are master's of their instrument will the skill Floor has. Sometimes people say of a singer "... can sing the phonebook". Well, you'll find a short clip of Floor doing exactly that on her channel.
When Floor sang this song first at Beste Zangers 2019 she said that she admires Lady Gaga not only because of her music but also because she is a strong "stubborn" woman who does what she wants. Floor herself has two sides symbolized by the two tattoos behind her ears: a dog and a wolf. When she lets her inner wolf out this can be really scary. Watch "Yours is an empty hope" at Rock in Rio 2015; her face expression during her last long growl wants you to run away as fast as possible. 😁
She did perform it in Amsterdam like She did back in the Beste Zangers Show. Intimate, very sensitive. Some of us Fans were an bit surprised back Then hearing it for the first Time, bcs if Floor intends to, She would belt anyone in between 5 Meters in Front of Her with this Song from Their Chairs, going full Chest Voice and coping the Gaga Style, but, nope She didnt :). Interesting mention of the young Lady that She isnt even surprised. I Agree, good or extraordinary good Singers are just that no Matter the Genre. And Versitality often comes along with that Skills, also in more Pop orientated Music. Danke to Germany from Texas! You're completely correct about the versatility of great singers. In fact, I'd say the great ones really need to be diverse in order to master different areas of their craft that won't all be found in one genre, but can any single genre better. I saw Lady Gaga last year (or maybe the year before) in Vegas doing big band songs, and it was pretty spectacular.
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks OH, i Envy You for the Gaga Gig, i only can relate my Opinion to two Concerts back an Decade around. Both were nice Shows(my daughters loved it back then) but She really impressed me in the Filler/Pause/Stage changing Times. All Solo or with one Guitar doing sometimes improvised Singing highly connected on Crowd Reactions, with an reall impressive Skillset. Very authentic Lady. love that:)
It's funny, I've seen 3 concerts in Vegas over the last couple of years, and they were all for musicians I wouldn't have thought I'd ever want to see in concert (Gaga, Garth Brooks, and U2). All of the concerts were spectacular (although for U2, it was more for me about seeing the new Sphere venue in action - and it was absolutely breathtaking)
I don't think they drank from horns in Finland and Vikings were never at home there either. They come from the Scandinavian countries of Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Finland has never been a Scandinavian country. Btw; who the hell is Lady Gaga?

@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Inclusive of the Scandinavian countries, the Nordic Countries stretch from Iceland to Finland as they share some other common properties.
Note: Floor is the only Nightwish singer who has done some training in Opera. Tarja sang classically when she was in Nightwish not Opera ☺️ Tarja’s solo work is worth a listen as well as Floor’s solo projects, both great singers. 🎶🎶🎶🎶

Please don't do Nightwish from Pinkpop, it might be the worst live performances ever because Floor had her solo performance before it, and Deichbrand is better quality than the Hellfest, also for the Human Nature album songs, please please please do the official lyric videos Greetings from Sweden
