This is the Floor Effect. Every time She sings a duet, it is never just 1+1=2. She takes it always to another level. There are many examples on RU-vid where She is a guestsinger with other bands. Floor is a empath, She can feel the emotions of the persons around her. On tour and in private life She wants peace and quiet between concerts. On stage however She channels the excitement of the crowd and gives that energy back resulting in mindblowing live performances.
I'd highly recommend How's the Heart Accoustic (Nightwish) , After Forever (Floor pre Nightwish) covering Heart's Alone. I'm hoping you'll be getting onto the Nightwish train for the full journey.
tim akkerman did in this show mr.president and my girl(never seen floor with a bigger smile) and 1 of is own songs brave of our hearts(as a peace ambassador) you should see the clip its great
Thank you for another great reaction! :). BTW, it is not a problem to interrupt a song for commenting and making sure it doesn't get blocked, not at all. After all it is a reaction channel, we are here not just for the music, but also for your reaction :). So, no apologies needed either. If you want to make transitions easier, you could always pick up the song 10 seconds earlier when you start playing it again (J-key). This song was really written as a duet, I think that that is mostly why it sounds so much different, Tim with is gritty rock voice, and Floor more mellow, although adjusting to him. I also think she was trying not to outsing him, indeed, but really to complement his style. Of course, she is an excellent singer and performer, with an incredible range (at least E2b to F6) and capable of singing almost anything in any style, and as you rightly state, really good (if not incredible) at emoting through her singing. Tim Akkerman was the lead singer and songwriter of the band Di-rect (rock), and after going solo he has brought out a few other albums, the last one being "Lions don't cry", from which Floor sang "Winner". Apart from the suggestions below, I'd recommend the Emma Heesters & Henk Poort duet "Vivo per Lei" (Andra Bocelli) from Beste Zangers (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OumZnDaQINo.html), which is excellent too, as is "Pa Olvidarte", the duet by Rolf Sanchez and Emma Heesters (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zUhVk-D_wK0.html). You should als check out some of the songs performed by Henk Poort, such as "The Sound of Silence", for Floor Jansen, "Vincent", for Tim - Dutch version but absolutely stunning -, and "Noelia" for Rolf. And there quite a few more jewels in the BZ 2019 line-up as well :). The latter you can all pick up from youtuber "jenniezelf" :), with subtitling. Anyway, thanks once more! Kindest regards, Wim P.S.: corrected my typo in the Rolf Samzez song :).
Now that you´re done with the Floor Journey from Beste Zangers, maybe jump into Henk Poort, the man is amazing. Absolute classic Gentleman, outstanding performer. Him and Floor are very similar in their approach towards Songs, "Singer serves the scene and the Song". Very emotional performances by him in this show aswell.
Wow! Hadn’t seen this second version before. So great! Floors voice always manages to wrench at my emotions and can’t help it but it’s impossible to keep a dry eye. She sings with such feeling - I don’t think anyone is immune.
Yes totally agree, what a beautiful arrangement sung by a very talented pair ! also Cudos for the band, they are the unsung heroes of this very popular series ! Also just love your insight...
Good to see you continue on your journey, so you've circled the 'Beste Zangers' and now it is time to go a bit further into the ocean and hear her siren's call. A small step would be to check out Floor's beautiful song she made for Warchild, I think one of the most worthy causes in the world. Anyways the song's called "The Fight Goes On" (for the English version) and if you feel adventureous enough you can also listen/watch it in her native Dutch with a bit of a Brabo accent.(De Beelden Blijven) I agree with a lot of the commenters that there is a lot more to her than the songs you've listened to. Nightwish will get you an army but perhaps the intimate songs are more suited to your comments. I really like how you tried to find meaning and purpose in the songs so far.and hope you'll continue to do so.
You are spot on - Floor is holding back, adding passion instead of power, careful not to overpower Tim' s voice. Floor is a professional and knows exactly how much throttle she can give singing duets - she often compensates using different colors and other tools from her toolbox, to ensure the ultimate performance, each time for the audience. You also see it in Nightwish Floor and Marco belting on full power versus Floor and Troy in much calmer and emotional duets. But then Floor and Marco has some phenomenal emotional duet also like While your lips are still red, Wembley 2015 and The Islander, Tampere 2015. You just have so much coming your way 😉 🤘 🤘
Tim Akkerman - Dear mr. president | Beste Zangers 2019 Rolf Sanchez - Hotel California | Beste Zangers 2019 Those 2 are also very emotional Performances from the Show. Highly recommended :3
Tim is obviously a talented singer/songwriter. I feel like he wasn't as comfortable/confident with this song. it's not that he did bad at all, it just seems he got a little bit lost in it. Floor has obviously lived with this song for an extensive period of time and it shows, Props to both, still an excellent peformance.
Tim's voice and intonation sound familiar, just like I hear Bruce Springfield. Floor is able to adapt her voice to different voice types in order to make the other musicians shine. Floor therefore frequently takes a step back to put the other in the spotlight by changing her volume and putting herself in the supporting role.
listen to the Nightwish song "Nemo". performed by Tim. he's a great singer too. One of my Floor Favorites is "Dead boys poem". check that out. awesome reaction. greets from the netherlands.
All of them were outstanding singers. More Tim? Listen to (with subs) Tim's version of *_"Dear Mr. President"_* : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DieF1bcj2v0.html Or any other songs of Emma, Henk, Tim, Rolf etc.
@@CUTnPASTEreacts Look how he backs up when she stands up. Floor flips the usual male-female dynamic. She is an intimidating presence onstage even if she is not trying to do so. We see the same thing in her "Christine" where she is way more powerful and calculating than the usual delicate "Christine". Henk hung in there when she cranked it up, but Tim backs up.
Beste Zangers has been on television for over ten years now, season 2019 was the best, it's worth checking all the singers of this show. The duett of Henk Poort & Emma Heesters - Vivo Per Lei is also great! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OumZnDaQINo.html
Well honestly Tim is quite delicate overall... So Floor burying him could probably be done even without a mic. Tim ain't bad but he got a very soft tone...
Thx for that, I see it now too, not sure if it stayed off sync, I kinds of scanned through it after and it seemed a touch off but not too terrible, I'll keep a better eye out for that in the future
