Good video like the information your sharing. I've never owned a cimex I dont do much commercial work. I have owned and OP machine years ago, the thing had to much vibration for my liking so I sold it. I recently purchased a new 175 floor machine as a backup system to my truckmount. Testing out some different type pads and encap products for residential carpet cleaning. Keep up the good work!

I dream of having one of these. I have to clean large stores with the dingy little blue Mytee machine. Its always breaking down and shaking itself apart. Seems like its in the shop every month. We managed to get one by minuteman that is a little lighter and less vibration. Its been doing great so far and I enjoy using it. But I really want the Cimex to speed things up.
Thanks for the video. The 175 buffer is my go to machine. I have a 20” Clark and a high speed, 285 rpm, 20” Nilfisk Advance with a built in tank that sits above the motor. I have always liked the bigger machines as I was doing a lot of vct work. They make quick work when bonnet cleaning the carpet. As I age I prefer to use the Oreck upstairs and on the stairs.
I really do like those old advance machines with the tank on top of the motor eagle also need a machine it was really good as well. They're just hard to go wrong with
I totally agree with if I were t own 1 machine it would definitely be a floor machine. I originally started my carpet cleaning business with a minuteman 175 and purchased the Orbot Vibe. I was pleased with the cleaning effectiveness but it was cumbersome to work with in residential situations so I sold it and went back to the floor machine. My only issue is the weight of the floor machine so in some cases I have been using the Oreck Orbitor for second story rooms and areas. I have found a floor machine by Koblenz for around $800 that weighs approximately 80lbs and with larger wheels and a solution tank would be a great residential machine in my view. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Well that was interesting. I have been saying rotary is the unsung hero now for the last 26 years when I dove in 100% believing a rotary with a tank and shower feeding was the simplest and easiest, most reliable and consistent VLM machine available. Nearly 15 years ago I had a good look at the first Cimex brought into Canada and went uh..no! Couple of years later I bought my first OP a CX17 by Orbitec and I still have it today and prefer it over my Orbot I bought a few years later. I expected to ditch the rotary as all the forums were poo pooing the lowly rotary as being inferior and obsolete. I think the wheels down OP is great for wide open areas and I can clean as fast as I can walk with my Orbitec but I simply cannot out clean my rotary in residential settings. I have learned a great deal over the years and how I clean now is much better than my first few years as I learned to use the rotary to its full potential. The addition of various types of fibre pads, a Multibrush or even a regular brush and various pads including the awesome Ironman has really improved the ability of the rotary in the hands of a skilled and knowledgable operator. One point you did miss is that a 175/300 rpm rotary in a commercial setting is a whole other animal as you will be able to move way faster with the faster spinning pad. For about 7 years I have been posting videos showing the rotary dealing with every situation imaginable and my intent has been to show how this simple, yet effective system can still stand toe to toe with any of these other machines and as you summed it up in the end If I only could have one machine it would absolutely be the rotary.
I totally agree with your above statement!!! I intentionally left 300 RPM machine out of the mix because we both know what happens if you have a 300 RPM 😉 It most certainly is a whole nother animal. Our industry loves toys but it doesn't necessarily think in all practical terms it's hard to argue after spending $3,000 that the $1,000 tool is just as good. But after years of playing with all these different machines I've learned my lesson and there's one machine that stands alone and that's the humble floor machine
Pacific equipment are some of the nicest stuff on the market it's been a long time since I've used one of their floor machines I like that new design I'm going to have to check it out seems like a good value. I definitely want to add another dual speed to our cleaning arsenal Their old machines used to have a giant nut to tighten the handle
Also another question, do you charge differently for encap versus hwe? I'm just getting started but I'm typically charging .25 per square foot for cgd and wonder how rates differ?
We mic up all the machines Because we wanted to show the difference on how they sounded By far the quietest of all the machines is always going to be a floor machine If you do put a microphone on a vibe it will be quieter though than the mytee
I have seen a forward motion 175 buffer. It's called hawk glide freedom. I was going get 1 but seems unnatural to push 1 forward like a cimex but supposedly twice as fast. Does anyone have experience with using 1. Or should I just stick with dual speed swing type 175. ? Thanks
@@carpetcleaningprofessor the machine I mentioned is a 175 dual speed but it goes forward and backwards instead of side to side. Do you think it would better then traditional one
I think you did a good video. I think the Cimex fails as it top washs all soils to the bottom of the carpet. The other two remove soils with the bonnets. Throw a Multii Brush under the rotary and you will out clean the Cimex as seen in this video. Demo starts at 18 minutes with the MBrush at 26 minutes. Thanks for watching the video I really appreciate it I agree with that video the cimex does have an issue when it comes to allowing soil to fall.. I also prefer to have on all my equipment whenever possible a prespray system much like the brush pro machine has
