You can add labels on almost any object in Home Assistant, not only entities but also on areas, devices, automations, scripts, helpers, etc. These labels can have any name and color you like and just like floors, you can use these labels in your automations and scripts to tell Home Assistant what to do. You can also use labels in templates. So they are more versatile than groups.
