I knew of her and the band but never really paid attention. I remember when this song was big and i liked it but i should have dug in and really checked them out further. I slept on this band. Florence is amazing...both vocally and visually. Shes a very bowieesque stylistic performer and i love her. The band crushes on lots of tracks as well. Very wall of sound inspired and i love it

Wall of sound is a perfect description, I say because I've also used it lmao. But no, glad to see someone else hears in the way you do and it doesn't sound crazy. :) But yeah she is VERY versatile though and has done a lot of SMALLER songs too and actually detoured away from the WALL OF SOUND in the past 3 albums. ( Though I hope she revisits it for a few songs in the future ) Her new album is amazing, I don't know if you've heard it? But she captures this feeling of MOVEMENT so well in it.

Yes, a bit of the emotion of Janis, the theatrics of Kate and the vocal expression of Annie Lennox could all be influences. She still has her own thing going on. Check out other songs by her, she is amazing.

Yeah if we went down the line of everyone she's inspired by we'd be here a while. Kate Bush, Annie Lennox, Stevie Nicks, Grace Slick, Bowie, Mick Jagger (depending on the song ) , Joan Jett now and again, Patti Smith. But you're definitely right, I've always said she has a quality where you go " Oh that reminds me of this and this . . . " you're so interested to know who inspires her, because she makes it refreshed and her own.
