In diana Ross book she said Motown wanted her to be lead singer. She said they felt she had voice that was going to appeal to diverse audiences. She said she did not suggest this. When Florence was losing her home, Diana wrote her a check that Florence refused to take, not our beloved, always complaining, Mary Wilson. Mary went to her grave blaming Diana Ross. Mary is now resting in heavenly peace while 80 year old Diana is still filling seat on tour. Anger only hurts your life.

She was cruel to both Florence and Mary. And I'm certain that Tracy Ellis is Gordy's daughter. It is a shame how Florence was treated. She didn't deserve what was done to her. Florence was going to be a superstar in a way the music industry was too strict on women like Billie Holiday, Nina Simone or Etta James and refused to allow them to be. Florence was someone who took no bullshit and spoke her mind, not sugarcoating anything. That is why Florence planned on writing a book but her death would soon come and someone would have to share her true story instead. She started the group, but gets kicked out for a replacement of the other women who didn't make it far with the group. From Akashi Media for Flo Ballard's daughter Rosalyn Nichole aka Variety Chenevert has confirmed that the Detroit Media has reported inaccurate news for many years. Flo had more than three children. She had all boys first and they were the Jackson Five and Katherine and Joe were their Aunt and Uncle. They all lived with their parents in one home. Flo was not able to embrace the realities of SHOW BUSINESS- while everyone else involved understood stood it (Period). The Supremes had reached heights unimaginable- perhaps in Flo’s thought process. The dynamic of the groups impact on the industry was something Flo couldn’t handle. Her school girl fantasy was just that- her fantasy. Furthermore if Flo had been the “DIANA” of the group- she would have been fine. The group had evolved into SHOW BUSINESS and SHOW BUSINESS dictated the “new” dynamic of the group. Flo was jealous and foolishly rebellious…and SHOW BUSINESS didn’t have the time or the interest in her design for the group. The school girl pact got shattered by SHOW BUSINESS and she couldn’t handle or accept it (because she wanted to be the “Diana of the group). She chose not to fall in line with the “new” program and sabotaged herself. The show must go on…and it did without her. 🤷‍♂️

Some of these stories get so confusing I mean they were called a no hit Supremes, and it wasn’t until the writers who wrote all the Supremes songs in one of the writers was dating and was in love with Diane and each woman, according to those writers said it was Diana’s voice that fit for those songs Mary Wilson even said the two of us include, including, Florence agreed didn’t mind because they were having hit records and they were on stage. They were all three stars by Diana Ross by far was the shining star. If you can’t see that you’re not looking in the right spot, Miss Ballard should’ve when she went to another record company, she should’ve recorded someone’s like Aretha Franklin did but she didn’t. She took the wrong advice if she had stayed at Motown, and when Diana left the group, they could’ve changed things around. She didn’t do that she didn’t show up she had hangovers. Remember she had been raped at one time she was going through a lot and then getting married. Diana Ross was not sleeping with Berry Gordy when he made her the lead singer. When "Where Did Our Love Go" was their first smash hit, who sang lead on it! Diana did. Berry was no fool, he made her lead so they'd have more hits. Diana's voice was very different, and the public loved it. So that's why she was made lead singer of the Supremes. It was a business decision, not because they were having an affair then. When Florence left the group, she cut two albums, they didn't make it. So Florence was a better singer than Diana? I think not. Nothing against Florence. She added a lot to the group.
