Dana that was such a good vlog I thoroughly enjoyed it. You & Al packed so much in to your 4 days & it is wonderful that you shared it with us. Oh my, all that yummy food, gelato, wine & cocktails, good job counteracted by all those 20K+ steps a day. Look forward to seeing you both in Positano :)
Hey Dana. First, just wanted to let you know we have just subscribed to your channel. We recently found you when browsing RU-vid. And, we LOVE your videos. You are always such a pure delight to watch, and your camera work is AMAZING! If you are ever in Calabria, let us know...Baci Baci, and keep enjoying your travels. From Scalea, Italy, we send you hugs.
Hi your video is so helpful! Did you use the audio guide or did you have a live guide in the Uffzi and Accademia? I booked the Uffzi at 8.15 and David at 2.45 with the audio guide.
Hi Rena, I bought the tickets a few weeks in advance if you have a preferred time and want to have fast entry. All of the tickets are timed. The further out you book, the more timed entry options you will have.
Hi from Austin, TX. My wife and I were there for a second time this last May. Was glad to see you both went to the same winery and then to San Gimignano. Same Gelato shop. Main thing is, when you both went to Loggia Roof Bar, you sat at the same table we did. Small world. Was a great video. Our daughter and her husband live in NYC and we enjoy getting to look thru your camera when you both travel around. Keep up the good work. Thanks
Florence was the Cradle of Renaissance but it was also a Power of Commerce. Banks "Banco", fundament of the western societies born in Florence aorund 12th century and the strenght of the Florentine Bankers created that Jewel called FLORENTIA...FLORENCE.
Headed to Italy in October. Currently binging all of your Vlogs- Love them! Al coming up to take your photo was just the sweetest. Thanks for sharing and linking everything.
Hi guys have been enjoying your Italy vlogs they' re amazing even though i would of liked to see more of botanical garden. I saw you spent time with Nicky in Positano, I love her and Carlo. I need to check if you put up a vlog from your visit there. Thanks from NJ for sharing....
as italian it's amazing for me to see how you both love my Country , so proud♥ the "perfect" season to visit all the italians major cities are the mid seasons: early spring and fall, not too croudy, beautiful weather and the hotels rates are less expensive :D Pisa and S. Gimignano were lovely the quality of your videos is stunnig, love also seeing the shooting backstage ♥
@@ashleyterepka3091 Let's be honest, it's not the best. Just an example. You could basically remove the whole southern parts and it wouldn't even change that much when it comes to the total GDP. Lombardy alone is like 40% of Italy's economy. And then there's a lot of fascists and such political parties would most probably be illegal in most other European countries such as Germany, Austria etc. Just look at some football clubs in Rome or Mussolinis great greatson and why he even has the surname. And keep in mind that southern Italy's economy is even more broken. Lots of people there have pretty useless jobs from the state itself. We're talking about jobs like calling companies and asking them some basic and useless tax information that the account submits anyway. Or the foresters in Sicily. I think there were more foresters in Sicily only than in whole Canada. Then there's problems with the system of justice. Italy has the longest processes in whole Europe. They're so long that lots of them barred or they had to offer 50% amnesty when accepting jail sentence. Then there's the missing dual citizenship in Trentino for the German- and Ladin-speaking people but Italy is offering Italian citizenship to Istria and basically everyone who had some Italian ancestor a few hundred years ago (yes, I know that Italy is younger than that). Then there's problems with lots of grant fundings like the Superbonus 110, strange laws like the one that new drivers can't drive cars with more than 90 HP. Guess why? Yeah, there's some car company called FIAT. Now young people have to purchase some shit cars without airbags. Fun fact: The drivers exam is done with more than 90 HP and you can drive more than 90 HP while having the foglio rosa which is basically the temporary drivers licence until you get your real one after the exam. Italy is a big mess. Especially in the south where young people can't even tell you 2 English words because the teachers studied French and not English. Yeah, that happened quite often.
My wife and I are going to italy for 2 weeks, in September we really enjoy watching your videos… you always find the most beautiful places to eat Keep up the good work, say hi to Al from us
I was just on a tour in Italy in late May. Florence was beautiful. However, there was a major sporting event when we were there, so it was very crowded. On our second day, we had a tour to San Gagimania, which I truly enjoyed revisiting in your vlog. Wish we had more time with less crowds in Florencia. So beautiful ❤🎉
Dana, love watching your travel videos. Will you tell me which canon camera you were using on this trip? It looks like a great size to carry. Thanks. Also do you guys use a SIM card in your travels or just your phone carrier intl plan?
Another fantastic vlog, you and Al did a great job! 😊 And looks like you’re having a blast out there. I’m a little jealous of the gelato tbh 😁 it looks delicious.
I’ve been trying to decide if we want to go to Florence next trip or not so thank you for this video! I’m so in love with the Amalfi Coast I want to go back there… so much more to see there that we missed! I met Nicki and Elisabeth and took a boat tour with Elisabeth and it was a highlight!! 🇮🇹 So many wonderful sights to see in Italy! Thanks for the vlog!!
Went there about four years ago, and wow did this bring back great memories. We went to many similar places. Went to the Uffizii, went to see David (paid ahead and went in when it opened so practically had it to ourselves), La Buchetta, Gelateria Dei Neri, Ponte Vecchio, Piazzale Michelangelo at sunset, got a driver to take us to Siena where we saw the duomo (my favorite church ever), San Gimignano where we had Dondoli gelato, and stopped at Pisa on the way to Cinque Terre. What a dream trip. Now you made me want to go back!!!
My wife and I were in Florence at the same time as you were I believe. We absolutely loved it. We were there partly for the Firenze Rocks concert, which featured Metallica. Our favorite place in all of Italy was Cinque Terre. So beautiful.
Dana, you are all pure, natural class. Thanks for saving me heaps as I live vicariously through your travels. The production quality of your videos is so good I feel that I don't even need to go there. Mix up an Aperol Spitz put a Dana video on the big screen and its just like being there. More please.
Just found your channel through Niki Positano and I’m hooked your videos are great and so beautiful…thanks for all the travel vlogs so picturesque and stunning. 😊🥰
Dana, I’m heading to Tuscany and Florence in October…. Watching your videos and taking notes!! Thank you so much for your attention to detail and style ❤️
Truly enjoy your videos! We're on a 12 night fam cruise in August and your content makes me both excited for trip / great ideas of things to do! Appreciate you!!!
Yes, I have a credit card that offers no foreign transaction fees and I use that. Before any trip to Europe I exchange some currency for my trip depending on the budget I set. It’s also good to have local currency for places that are cash only.
For phone service we have an unlocked cell phone (you can also buy one at your destination) and use a local SIM card with cell and data service. It’s okay as you go and they also have a tourist SIM at airports. The one we use is TIM phone company in Italy n
Your friend is so cute in his panama hat! Great filming! Really loved this video! Your attention to all the beauty was refreshing and the history included with your video really great! Thank you
We did the same Tuscany in Day tour you did. We loved it. Well worth the money, and I learned how to pronounce San Gimignano . We are headed back to Florence in October. Thanks for the tips.
Where so you get the tickets for everything?oooh that BRAC FLORENCE LOOKS GREAT! Will note! Thank you! Your skin is gorgeous ! Skincare routine video? Thx so much!
Hey Dana. Thanks for lots of good information. On average, how much in advance should one purchase tickets to enter these museums and places like Ufizzi and Academia? And how to get the tickets? After purchasing tickets online, do you have to go somewhere to pick up the physical tickets or do they send them to you so you’ll have them on your phone?
Thanx so much for the awesome tips! We didn't know about Gustarium and the original Tuscan panini - mini trattoria called Carnacchio! We'll definitely visit those next time we're in Florence. FYI you visited Florence at a good time, we went there about a month later (end of July) and the people on the streets were at least 4 times more!!! Kudos for the great work, Panos and Mirella, Greece.
I’m watching this in 2024 and it’s so funny because this is almost my exact itinerary from when I went to Florence in May 2023. I ate at Shake Cafe everyday I was there. La Bucchetta was the best meal of my whole Italy trip. Went to Uffizi, Galleria Academia, and even the same Tuscany, Sienna, San G, Pisa trip! It was like I was watching my own trip :) I didn’t know about Piazza Michelangelo and have added that to my list for my next trip if I’m so lucky to go again!
Great vlog, hope you guys had a great time! Do you have the link to the hotel you stayed at in Florence, with the rooftop? I'm such a sucker for a rooftop. :)
@@DanaBerez So sorry to be a dummy - I haven't used the physical youtube website in a while, and I couldn't find the description box! It used to be above the comments, and so I thought maybe the box was accidentally blank or something!
hi Dana, hope you made it into All'antico Vinaio to try their innovative sandwiches; many delicious vegetable spreads & combos (cooked eggplant, zucchini) as well as meats & cheese...also Santa Croce and the leather school in the basement and at least one of the historic Farmacias with their natural oils, soaps and perfumes...Bon Voyage..
You two are such a delight to watch! Thank you for adding the names of each restaurant on the screen! So helpful. New subbie here! About to binge your vids, we’ll be in Italy in Jan ❤🎉
authentic gelato shouldn't look like a mountain-that's made with cream & "chemicals flavors"; ; authentic artisanal Gelateria make gelato with milk -gelato should lay low and flat dense-made every three days because it only uses real-fresh ingredients -
Just wanted to thank both you for putting out these videos with your commentary and information … Travelling to the Northern parts of Italy following a family wedding in Tuscany so really enjoy your informative along with your suggestions … Keep up the great work !!!
Omg I know that! You don’t need to educate me on geography. I meant Tuscany country side. Thanks repeating the same comment others have already commented.
