The story in the song came to me last night in a dream. It's a group of witches putting a curse on the town right before being hung. The sound effects bring the whole thing together, down to her last gasping breaths after the board floor gives out and she's hung.

This is so reminiscent of "Which Witch" to me and I am loving it. My initial interpretation? This song is largely a commentary on her sobriety, but also how our vices never fully leave us, instead shapeshifting alongside us. Absolutely beautiful, fantastically feral, and poignant as always.

As someone who never had to sober up because my constitution mercifully (or not) prevents me from enjoying the ‘fun’ parts of alcohol (I’m basically intolerant to it so I only get a flush and a headache which leads to throwing up and then back to normal, no reckless, confidence-boosting episodes, but also no comedowns or withdrawals or cravings) and also I have kept away from all the ‘addictive’ substances (they just never had any draw for me, despite being in the arts) , I often wonder if my sense of fantasy, fed only by my imagination, pales in comparison to those who have seen hallucinations and felt euphoria. So many talented people have had the demons of drink and drugs on their back all the time, some have succumbed mortally to it. Florence’s music has, I feel, taken on a far darker, more confessional tone ever since her sobriety, which I find interesting. Her lyrics have become a lot more ambiguous now; I don’t know in ‘King’ if it is an affirmation of power, or an admission of guilt and weakness. Here, I am trying to figure out if her music brings her solace or torment.

i still find it hard to believe that Florence shot this and probably the entire video album in MY university, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute 💙💛 she was closer to me than ever, i mean i live like 3km from there, lol. I just got turned on to F+TM and one of the first things I appreciated was the diversity of the dancers. After the lyrics and the music, but probably before the exquisitely surreal nature of the choreography and scenery. I am a vanilla gal from California so might not have normally paid attention to diversity but I married a Middle Eastern man and we adopted a baby from India so, yeah, I notice and deeply appreciate diversity now.

Story time: I was sitting down watching this on a repeating loop (because 2 minutes isn’t long enough and it makes me slightly feel like a bitter woman who was choked that she only got 2 minutes of s** from a man) when suddenly my girlfriend comes into the room trying to get my attention. It took her 5 minutes to finally get my attention and when she did, I simply glanced over at her for a quick second before watching the video again and I said, “no offence but I love Florence more than you right now.” And I heard her say, “okay that’s cool. Just don’t cheat on me with her.” Only then did I put my phone down. I stared her dead in the face and then said “Believe me, if I ever have the opportunity, I totally will.” Then we both broke out in laughter.

Wow If these are really the lyrics most people don't know what it really says and listen to it carefully they just see something very artistic and are taken back by that and don't realize what she's saying if she can go to hell because it glitters she wants to go there that's scary and downright evil in an open door to dark forces people don't know that she celebrating getting power for self as if you can control that power because it's supernatural and you can't control something supernatural it will end up controlling you and that sort of evidence by the video it's luring it's artistic but it's extremely dark the sad thing is she's saying she's chosen hell or Lucifer because she likes power and she's an artist in the music industry so sad because something's entertainment doesn't mean evil's not real just because it's entertaining or luring or tempting people the sad thing is she has a soul and she is truly loved but doesn't know that and has chosen power and the music industry because it glitters but in the end like addiction it will consume you and leave you empty and yet and yet she is truly loved Jesus says come to me all who were weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn from me cuz I am gentle and humble at heart and I will give you peace for your soul he also says no one loves someone more than someone who's willing to lay down their life for their brother and that's what he did for her he gave everything to save her so she can be with him always he is the Good Good Shepherd because he lays down his life for his sheep she doesn't know she has a choice for real freedom in real life and true life in real love Lucifer only offers something that will leave you empty and dry and dead in the end Pray for her that she won't find religion but she will truly know Jesus and his heart for her and he offers her everything beyond her wildest dreams and obviously they're pretty big with all the glitter of the music industry but in the end it will leave her empty she is truly loved she needs Jesus in real relationship in real love and real life

i love that the movements from the OA are in this song. the OA was a really powerful story, i think it helped alot of people in a lot of different ways. it’s disappointing they stopped producing the show considering how well it was going for netflix and the producers. and it clearly had a beautiful impact, maybe that’s why they stopped producing it.

Most of the sanctions actually doesn’t concern the people who deserve them, who actually ‘make decisions’. These are ordinary people who reap what the authorities sow. I know it’s nothing compared to what’s happening in Ukraine, but still it hurts.

I remember the first time I heard her with Dog Days are over and thought what an incredible voice she had. Guess the glitter in Hell is what she wants. I saw Florence live in a music festival here in my country and it was one of the most transcendental experiences of my life. Everyone was absolutely enchanted, it felt like we were all collectively praying, or worshipping a very old deity. She has a beautiful way of making you feel connected to something bigger than you, and the music was bigger than all of us. It was like the music itself was enchanted. She's become my absolute favourite since. So powerful, even in a festival concert, where you have so many different audiences. And she won every one of us over. Watching this video, I felt like that all over again.
