I know right? Her texts are so brilliant (most of them have a diverse vocabulary which is pretty rare these days) and her musical talent is just insane.
She says that she used to drink before the concert so she would cope with the anxiety. Whoever that sings like that drunk deserves all my respect. That vibrato is ridiculous, it's absolutely beautiful.
I've never seen a singer who looks and sounds so much like they're literally channelling music with their whole body and voice, it almost looks like its beyond her control at times, easily one of the greatest vocalists of this generation.
I am happy someone decided not to give an opportunity to the usual hot untalented pop "singer" but to a real amazing artist like Florence. If she were american, she would have never made it without boob implants and other surgery and without showing her body.
What about a Universe where Florence was born a few decades earlier and she, Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie were all in Fleetwood Mac together? Could you imagine what Edge of Seventeen, Dreams, Go Your Own Way, Little Lies, and Sisters of the Moon would sound like if Florence was featured in it?
I think she's like an eclectic mix of Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks and Sarah Mclachlan. She has such a moving, vulnerable heart to her songwriting and a sincerely expressive, empowering voice to give soul to her lyrics.
I thought she cant control her voice and keeps vibrating when she goes higher until I realized that she vibrates on purpose and that vibrate is her signature move. Absolutely talented and amazing
It's called a vibrato and is a really common technique, but she does execute it perfectly and it doesn't sound obnoxious like it sometimes does when singers overuse it. It sounds so in place when she does it.
She has a very unique vibrato that she doesn't use when you would expect it. I've seen her live and she impresses me when running around and jumping on stage and still managing to be on key and not even out of breath.
Her and sia have the most "outta this galaxy" unique voice! They could both sing to me 24 hrs of the day , 7 days a week , 4 weeks of the month & 12 months of the year! Luv em
So glad you included that first video of Rabbit Heart. It’s literally the only version she’s ever done where she did the chorus high like on the album.
This is her year..I hv a feeling she may win a few..if she doesnt get 1 I will never watch again.this dance album is a spectacular reinvention of herself...❤ her...
The no light, no light performance is absolutely one of her best performances of all time. She REAAAALLY nailed the "Out loud" part. It's the most impressive and amazing thing in the whole song. I love this woman so so much
Does anyone else get the feeling that she probably doesn't need a mic? Her vocal tone is so violent and potent, I feel that she could be heard over any crowd. Also how does she look so graceful and flowing when she sings?!?!? Amazing 💕 💕 💕
I think she uses an Opera Squillo, and she uses it to project those higher octaves, most singers will dampen the volume to control the higher notes. Mariah and Ariana both do that for whistle tones they just compensate for it but raising and lowering the mic volume.
Florence is one of the rare artists who sound way better live than in studio. I used to think that rabbit heart was meh until i heard that live one... Now i'm obssessed. And that version of you've got the love is so ethereal
Why are y'all debating which female singer has the best technique? It's about how the song and performance as a whole makes your heart feel. Plain and simple.
went to a concert on her tour in 2022, what a fckin powerhouse. i think beyond the power of her vocals, all of it, the performance just holds so much passion and emotion that it’s like she’s possessed by it on stage, she lets it become the forefront. almost verges on unhinged at times like in that clip of delilah but it’s so insanely captivating to watch. one of the best live shows ive ever been to. walked out a changed woman
her voice cleared my skin, improved my grades, cut my brother and me hair and gave it to my bald uncle, cleaned my house, unclogged my sink, cured my mom’s depression, made my alcoholic dad sober and resurrected my grandpa.
nope, florence is way better than her, I don't think there is any better singer than her in terms of technique. She can sing 3 concerts in 1 day with 3 octaves, even four. Wich is not common those days. She is a real artist, a real singer, a real performer.
no she is not, Whitney had this overtone technique wich is not the most sugested one, I mean when you overtone like Whitney or Cristina Aguilera you belt like crazy but your ressistance is not that good. Nowadays Florence is the only singer who sings with a proper technique, although she doesn't belt F5's or G5's too often she still manages herself to hit some E5's, D5's. Her vibrato is very clean and her head voice whenever she wants she can hit a D6, not common in those other two artist. Her ressistance is also out of this world. She can jump, do tons of rock movements and still sing properly just as the album version.
Florence dosen't have a great technique lol Her vibrato is way too fast and her voice often shows strain in belts and in vibrato. she's also pitchy at times still a good singer tho
akkdd awy Yep, the interview was over two months and a half now too, so I'm sure she's made more progress on the album since. Plus she uploaded a pic of her in the studio recording two weeks ago so be ready!
That MTV Unplugged performance has some of her best vocals/renditions of songs. That's the only way I like "Never Let Me Go" I feel like she is able to really tap into the emotion of that song there.
We might be seeing it next year, near the end of the year. Should be lots of albums coming out from singers who last released albums in 2015! Usually takes them 3 years.
I have to mentally prepare myself to watch videos like this because I have very intense emotional reactions to her voice. I cried like a baby when I saw her perform in Santa Barbara.
This is an older video now but it's so cool to see how her style has changed and her vocals and gotten even better. Imo in some of the early clips like Rabbit Heart you can hear that she's pressing hard on her voice and not singing in the most healthy way. I also think it's really amazing to see how after she got sober you can see her channeling her energy on stage into dance instead.
While her performance of Never Let Me Go on MTV unplugged is great, I absolutely LOVED it when she turned No Light, No Light into a ballad on that episode. When she holds that one note...*chills*
She literally shines like the sun and her voice makes my heart smile!!! I'm pretty sure she is the only person in this industry who smashes her live performances!! Better than recorded versions!!! Makes me very emotional listening to her passion!!! I feel it in my bones!!! Lets you feel alive!!
La voz de esta mujer es un verdadero privilegio, me eriza la piel cada vez que la oigo cantar, sigo su arte desde el año 2013. espero escucharla en vivo algún día. 🌹
Her and Sia are probably some of the best singers out there when it comes to technique and control. And both have such distinctive, captivating voices. I've seen Florence in concert and it was absolutely magical...
Miledith Absolutely agree. Sia is my all time favourite artist. No singer in music history can sing the way Sia sang Chandelier live at The Village Spotify sessions
She has been sober for years. Her songs are about her fight for sobriety. Florence and the Machine was the best concert I have ever seen at the Hollywood bowl. Her voice creates goosebumps.
She is amazing. Those of you who enjoy her too, I recomend taking a look at Miss Pilgrim Home for Peculiar children's theme song, its a beautiful awesome song, but there is no live vídeos unfortunately
She is such a good writer, singer (like wow, her voice is AMAZING) and performer. She just has this vibe to her that makes her so impressive and you can really tell that she loves doing what she does. She is so underrated and deserves a larger fan base! There aren't many people in the music industry that can provide us with the music that she does. But, as long as she's happy, then that's all that matters.
Finally a video about Florence! YAY~~~ ♥ She has such an electrifying voice - extending from a frosty, delicate lower range to a towering, womanly middle range to a piercing and witchy head voice. Is she secretly an angel from a mystical dimension? :P
great collection! great artists usually have to harmonize a couple steps down in some of their more vocally demanding songs to preserve longevity/care of their voice during a tour, like she does in her usual performances of Rabbit Heart and Spectrum (Freddie Mercury did this a lot too), but it's always so fantastic whenever we get the rare live recording of them just letting it all out.
