Ahhh i really, truly love where I'm from more and more as I get older. There's really no other state with culture as rich, colorful and energetic as the culture we have here in Florida. Although i'm from South Florida, our culture and vibrations really resonate throughout the other regions of the state.
True I’m from Vancouver and theres absolutely no car meet ups/clubs at all. Even tho we have some of the nicest vehicles here no one has a place to show them off *sigh*
Donks get a lot of hate and I think some of it is deserved but the truth is that it’s really hard to build a donk that actually looks good. To get good aesthetics takes a well thought out concept. It’s difficult. Wheel Proportion and stance, color combos, the devil is in the details with these things. Some of the guys in the vid have it dialed in though and when you get everything just right on a donk, they’re some of the baddest cars on the planet. Ugly donks are a dime a dozen, but those nicely built donks are so impressive. Some of these things cost over $100k to build. Lots of engineering involved in making it work right. Great video 👍
Yes. Some of these are ugly for real. Especially the ones that have wheels way too big to fit the arches... I remember back in the day peoole put wheels that fit under the wheel arches... 👍
Although to be fair to a lot of donk builders I don’t think the goal is to actually create a car that looks good or is beautiful. It seems the goal is to stand out and be unique or just the most jaw dropping. This drives innovation in a lot of areas of customization but pure aesthetics often isn’t one of them. I think once people understand that about donks it’s easy to love these cars for what they are. I might also add that to me, a donk is a celebration of wealth. Some people find this distasteful but if you’re cool with it, like I am, it’s all the more reason to enjoy them.
You do realize a donk has nothing to do with rim size, right? It has more to do with the type of platform car and it’s usually the 1971-1976 Caprice & Impalas.
