Thanks for posting Adam! My Dad had a Colombian vise. I ran a lot of projects through that vise as a kid. Brought a tear to my eye remembering that old vise, but my Dad's wife gave a lot of his stuff away after died and before we could get a court order to stop her. Someday I'll have a vise like Dad's again !

use an old candle to rub the drawer slots on the tool boxes. it protects and makes them slide really easy.

Adam: That tool box was made by a sister company of Gershner Tool box Co. They stop making about 1940. You can buy the felt from Gershner and the correct hide glue. I refinished one like that and that how I found out the information. The one I fixed was not in as good as yours, it look showroom quality now. Good luck

What a huge selection of tools! My friends and cousins over in the USA, you are lucky people and I wish I could have been there with you.

So much cool stuff. I'd love a couple of those anvils and vises. All those Oliver tractors are cool too. A very close friend of mine just lost a dozen Oliver's in a barn fire including a 880, 777, 66 super and some other beautifully restored pieces. He and his brother are the local Oliver experts.

At auc tion coupla years ago i picked up a 4x8 ft x5/8 in welding table WITH AN OFSETT 6 inch vice for $200.00 that was the win of the year for me. Cheers Adam.I cant even lift one end of that table. Real solid.

Adam, Fantastic show! Probably a good thing I am in NJ and not Fla.. I have been looking for a decent two or three hundred pound anvil and that kind of stuff just does not show up around here. Down there you have them by the ton, literally! Great score on the vices, Just this past week I restored one of those same Colombia vices.

I had to laugh when I seen all the vises on the bench. I thought maybe you broke in my shop to take video. Lol. You are right it is a great hobby and it’s very fun to find something that you are excited about and then to get a fair price on it. That’s what’s keeps me up at night. That’s my Disney world dream. Ha. And make sure you tell Your fiancé we really appreciate her being in the videos and helping record.

Hi Adam, a common trick with furniture is to use white candles and wax the drawer slides. Would probably help the homemade box alot. Envious, looks like ya'll had fun! Thanks for sharing

great finds! on Abby's box, first try this trick, "OOOO" steal wool (very fine) and furniture oil polish, a liquid gold would do just fine to clean up the wood and if there are any labels just take care cleaning those places of course. good luck and have fun! Oh, for the drawer slides just rub some wax in there and they will smooth out

Man, I would have been like a cat on a shrimp boat at that swap & shop. Very cool.

I have one of those Lufkin Boxes from my great grandad. Its still filled with his daily tools from when he was a tool maker in Detroit and Saginaw back in the 1940's. I never really knew that lufkin was in the Machine tool business until I took a look inside there. I just thought they made rulers and tapes.

On Abby's box, you might sneak in some HDPE slider strips on the side of the drawers to work against the metal non moving part to prevent any further abrasion and to make for silky smooth sliding. Those are some really nice looking hinges, lots of character... Good eye, Abby! I have several boxes full of hinges from auctions, not many are that nice.. Great video as usual. Envious of the vises, they are one of my vices.. LOL.. Michael in Colorado. Currently16°F @ 4mph SSE.

Paraffin works really well to lube the drawers. Put it on both the slide and the dado. It lasts forever, and they will be smoother than ball slides.

Gday Adam ‘n’ Abbie, you guys certainly got some beautiful finds, I new when you first looked at the cam lock vice I was going to see it in your shop, I have never seen or new they existed a real great design, thanks so much for sharing the trip it really makes me want to get out here in Australia to swap meets, I just have to sweet talk the wife to let the purse strings undo a bit but I’ll work on that over time, Abbie’s Jewellery box was a great find and will look really nice all cleaned up, I would like to see this in the finished state so can you please share a look when this is done, I have a idea for my wife but don’t tell her that please shhhhh, Thanks again guys cheers Matty

Your Lufkin tool chest is a EXACT match to my great grandfathers H.Gerstner & Son's tool chest out of Dayton, Ohio. He was a gold smith and used it as his traveling show case to show his rings, pendant's, chain's and gold script's (hand bent gold wire in a name or logo). I still have the box and today it houses the family coin collection with a few of His gold rings, my favorite being a LARGE yellow diamond with a rare cut in a gold band with silver inlay with 2 side diamonds. Someone must have been kicking these boxes out for different companies, the only differences I can see between yours and mine are the names on the locks and the builders plates! EDIT: so typed H.Gerstner & Sons into search engine and they build fine wooden chest and are still in business! So sublet to Lufkin perhaps? PS: Your gunna wanna check out theyre web site and RU-vid CHANNEL! hehe 8)

The scores you made are awesome, the vice with the rear swiveling jaw is a trip, never seen one with that feature before & the cam lock swivel vice. . . sweet. Abom or anyone! I have a beautiful Starrett Athol model 323 1/2 bench vise I have restored. Unfortunately, I somehow lost the swivel clamp lock for it during a move (it baffles me, but somehow it is just gone.)... I'm on the lookout for this part which so far has been impossible to locate... If by chance anyone has this part, runs across this part at the swap meet/garage sale, or happens to run across one of these vises in poor shape where this item can be salvaged from it for parts.... The ice cream makers are my favorite. That's the first time I have seen a pastel pink tractor. lol If those old tool chests are in daily use for a few decades, they pick up a unique odor of the shop. That's occasionally a pleasant, nostalgic scent, and occasionally it's mildew and mold. (edited to correct drunken typing.)

I Love Vises, I love Anvils, I love Machine Tools. I'm jealous. ;-) You guys did great! I would go to more of these events but my schedule is kind of "Hit and Miss". 😲

I enjoyed that look at the show, nothing like that over here. But although I like looking at the stuff you showed, it's so frustrating when you skirt all round something i'm really interested in. Like the small domestic piston type water pump, the one sitting on top of the weird anvil, id have paid good money for that over here. Lol
